“All Joy reminds.
It is never a possession, always a desire for something longer ago or further away or still 'about to be'.”
C.S Lewis

Lewis's quote reminds us of this reoccurring theme in Advent - the "now and the not yet" of the Kingdom of God, of the coming of a Savior. Joy is ever present, perched on our soul. It is a call, reminding you of a deeper longing, that there is more Joy ahead. For Lewis, Joy transcends happiness and pleasure. Joy has a nostalgic quality we often associate with Christmas and childhood. There is a promise harbored in what we call Joy - the promise of something wonderful that is always coming but never arriving in its fullness.

In Galatians, Paul says Jesus arrived in "the fulness of time." The time is now full, but full like a balloon with room to grow.

Receive the promise harbored in what we call Joy. Jesus is coming.

Join us for a Blue Christmas worship in the spirit of Advent to acknowledge and celebrate loved ones who are no longer with us in body, but very much in spirit. Following worship, join our industrious Compassion in Action group as we wrap gifts to be distributed to veterans and their children in Boston.

Advent 2018

Poinsettia Celebration

We invite you to participate in our annual Holiday Poinsettia Celebration. Honor a loved one by purchasing a poinsettia in their name. The plants will decorate the Chapel and Sanctuary until Christmas Eve, then you are welcome to take your plant home for the holidays or donate it to spread holiday cheer to those in need.

12-23 Eat & Carol over Cocoa @ 11:15 AM, Chapel

An Old Fashioned Carol sing...with a twist! Gathered around the piano after worship, we'll be caroling over hot chocolate. Bring a dish that represents your traditional Christmas memories. It does not have to be large in quantity. Just a little something that one or two others can nibble and share the Christmas spirit. Wonder what your neighbor's favorite Christmas dish is!
