To make an impact on Congress, CONSISTENT monthly contact is vital!
ACTION FOR MARCH 2016
Ask your members of Congress to contact the State Department and urge them to send a message to the Israeli government: STOP the demolition of Palestinian homes.

A recent United Nations press release reports:
“The number of demolitions for just the first six weeks of 2016 is greatly alarming…Over 400 Palestinians have been displaced from their homes – equivalent to over half the Palestinians displaced in all of 2015.”
(emphasis added)
Robert Piper, UN Humanitarian Coordinator for the Occupied Palestinian Territory

Palestinians' property is often demolished due to the lack of a building permit. But only a tiny fraction of Palestinians in Area C — the West Bank area under Israeli control — can get the necessary permits from Israel.

Contact your member of Congress now, along with thousands of faith advocates and allies who are sending this message this month.
ILLEGAL PUNITIVE DEMOLITIONS
The Israeli government has resumed its practice of demolishing the homes of Palestinian families associated with attacks on Israelis.

The UN press release also states, “Punitive demolitions are a form of collective punishment and run counter to a range of provisions under international law.”

Demolishing homes and property
- whether for punishment or illegal settlement expansion -
is criminally unjust,
is disastrous for Palestinian families and communities, and
greatly damages the prospects for peace.

P.S. Read about the highly successful Congressional briefing in February,
attended by staff from over 40 Congressional offices. Attendees learned about the hardships created by settlement expansion for the village of Wadi Foquin and communities throughout the West Bank.
