Love For Asia Studio Built!
We are excited to announce that the Love For Asia Studio is almost completed and staff will be moving in soon! Monday, November 1st, is the dedication and grand opening! Here are some of the pictures from the final touches on the build.
This is the entrance to the studio, with parking in front. The air conditioning units are essential for preserving computer equipment in Thailand's hot and humid weather. So one of the challenges for Daniel and the building team this month was to buy air conditioning units and get them installed so that they aren't too visible in the front. Full electric power lines, and networking cables, are planned for early November so temporary power is still hooked up.
This collage shows several of the rooms, prior to furniture installation. These are the video editing room (top), conference room (bottom), and translation room (center, and center right), and a hallway to the server room and bathrooms (center left).
Several of the design features are planned for energy efficiency. All the lights throughout the building are LED lights. Although temporary windows are currently in place, double pane windows (back ordered) will provide insulation for air conditioning efficiency, as well as insulate against outdoor sound. The ceiling and walls have insulation installed, which is rare in Thailand.
This is the studio bay, where video recording will be done. The walls and ceiling have been covered with waffle foam for sound absorption. When you walk in and speak, there is no echo at all. The LED lights (on in the picture), and studio lights have been hung on the lighting grid (they are off, so it's a bit difficult to see them). Plus, as you can see, cameras and other equipment are being set up.
Since Jon Wood came to Thailand this month, there was a significant decrease in Daniel's work-from-home pattern. Jon Wood came to work with the final building stages and hire and train more staff; and of course, we couldn't have the studio dedication without him!
In our family life, we also reached a milestone. As a mom, most of my time is taken up with homeschooling the kids. We're happy that our two oldest kids, Nana and Sano, just finished fourth grade and third grade! We're going to have a week off of school, and then begin another school year so that we can hopefully align our school years with the typical international school year schedule.
As always, we welcome both readers and donors (with no obligation for readers to donate). Any are invited to donate to our family's mission here
, or to the studio building project
, as they feel impressed. Thanks so much for all of your readership, support, and prayers!
