Museum Report

The museum window restoration project is almost complete. The restored windows were reinstalled and special painting of the interior side of the windows was completed. Then the exterior woodwork was replaced and painted and storm windows installed. One door remains to complete the project.

Now that the windows are returned, several special exhibits are in works for the rest of the year.  In addition to the native American exhibit, we will enjoy the return of the Castle Rock fossils, and, a Rhyolite exhibit.

The special exhibit at the new Adventist hospital medical building is also in development.

A new fence was installed in January  as an Eagle Scout project.  Jacob Cihak and his team provided the fence to secure the backyard of the museum and improve the view.  This is the second Eagle Scout project done for the museum.

School groups are already scheduling for this quarter with the hope of better weather.

The museum staff attended training on emergency preparedness with a view to creating and emergency preparation plan.
