Expressway News

October 4, 2021

"We are responsible for implementing mobility solutions that preserve and enhance quality of life in Central Texas as we EVOLVE with the changing regional landscape, ENGAGE with the communities we serve, and PROTECT the environment we all share."

Transportation plays a critical role in our community. For a moment, reflect on how much you depend on reliable transportation to access work, family, recreation, and shopping. Think about the ways a transportation network must be developed in order to satisfy both the personal needs and commercial demands of our region. Ensuring mobility is not only an enormously complex task but ever-changing as our Central Texas community continues to grow and evolve. It’s why the Mobility Authority believes in continually engaging residents and providing meaningful opportunities for input so that the development of our region’s network effectively serves our community.

The month’s Expressway News will feature part two of a three-part series outlining the ways in which the Mobility Authority upholds it’s mission to evolve, engage, and protect.

The Mobility Authority engages in constant outreach with stakeholders and the community throughout construction of our projects. It’s inherent to our mission that we look beyond the pavement and remain committed to being good neighbors to the communities we serve.

Through this commitment, we employ a multi-channel approach throughout all project phases. And we are strong believers that good projects reach the community where they are. This includes a strong online presence using tools such as Facebook, Twitter, e-mail notices, as well as dynamic and informative stand-alone project websites. Though being tech-savvy is not a requirement to communicate with us, as we maintain direct hotlines and monitor all forms of communication.

We consider community input a key component to our success and the success of our projects. On the 45SW Toll Road, for example, reconfiguration of the MoPac-SH 45SW interchange and connections to the proposed Violet Crown Trail are a direct result of stakeholder and community feedback.

And during construction, we maintain the aforementioned channels to allow for residents to direct communication with our project teams. Our goal is to keep you informed - no searching, no fuss. Even in this COVID-era, we’ve found new ways and opportunities of engaging residents. We also aim to be a positive, proactive force in the communities we serve by supporting local organizations and neighborhoods by participating in and sponsoring events.
These outreach efforts don’t stop with completion of a project. In fact, we seek regular feedback about our facilities and initiatives year-round. The Mobility Authority relies on the experiences and voices of our community members as your insights are critically important in all aspects of our operations.

With our CTX Navigators program, we hope to make that feedback process even easier. Through this two-part survey platform, you can share input and opinions with the Mobility Authority and help us improve the way we build, operate, and maintain our toll roads and transportation projects.
