Dear Valued Partners,
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the introduction of social distancing protocols by the Australian Government, ALG has made the decision to bring forward the end date of Term 1 2020.
- Change to Term 1 2020 end date; and
- Move to distance study
The last day of Term 1 classes will now be Friday 20 March 2020. Examinations will continue into next week with the final day of examinations for Term 1 being Friday 27 March 2020.
Course delivery will resume in Term 2, via distance study as opposed to face-to-face delivery on-campus. Limited practical classes (including student counselling clinic) may operate in Term 2, with appropriate social distancing measures. The student massage clinic will remain closed throughout Term 2. We will be sending out further information about delivery of our courses in Term 2 soon to answer other questions students may have.
We trust you understand that we are undertaking these measures in the best interests of the health, safety and wellbeing of ALG students, trainers, employees and the broader community.
We will aim to place all students scheduled to undertake work placements in Term 2 where possible, noting this is likely to become increasingly difficult. If we are unable to place your student, alternative arrangements will be made, which may include deferral.
ALG’s student operations remain fully operational and we are here to support students as best we can during this uncertain period. We have compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions on our COVID-19 webpage (alg.edu.au/covid19) and kindly request that you check here first for answers to your questions before sending a direct enquiry to us. We will endeavour to respond to all enquiries as soon as possible, however due to very high volumes, please anticipate longer than usual delays.
Please be advised that if students need to defer their studies with ALG due to a travel ban, they may do so without penalty as long as the deferral request is communicated to ALG prior to the course start date. Due to high volume of enquiries, we encourage agents to submit any deferral requests for the April intake as soon as possible.
Course cancellation of offshore students
If a new student is unable to enter Australia due to travel bans, our $250 cancellation fee will be waived until further notice. The student will get a full refund of any pre-paid tuition fee less the non-refundable joining fee ($595) as long as ALG is notified of the cancellation prior to the course start date.
Agent commission payments
Please be assured that agent commission payments will not be impacted by the above changes. Once your students' payment is received by ALG, your commission will be transferred to your nominated bank account within 14 days.
As you would know this is a changing and unprecedented situation and we are doing our best to navigate through and help you as much as we possibly can. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.
Reminder, that as noted above, further specific details about delivery of our courses in Term 2 will be distributed shortly.
Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.
