April 30, 2020

Dear Active&Fit Member,

We regret to inform you that American Specialty Health Fitness, Inc. (ASH Fitness), the company that administers the Active&Fit program of which you are receiving your YMCA Membership through, has confirmed today (April 30, 2020) that they have decided not to accept any previous or future Virtual Workouts completed and logged through the YMCA to be credited towards your Fit Rewards.

We, like many other YMCAs across the nation, are very disappointed in this decision.

Instead, ASH is offering other virtual options for Active&Fit members to earn their Fit Rewards for workouts completed at home. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide you details on ASH virtual options. Instead, ASH has asked us to direct Active&Fit members to the ASH website at or to call the Active&Fit customer service hotline at 1-877-750-2746, Monday through Friday, 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pacific Time, for details.

When we temporarily closed our YMCA facilities on March 18, as directed by our local and health and government officials, we reached out to ASH Fitness to see if we could provide virtual services to our Active&Fit members so that they could keep healthy and fit, and receive credit towards their Fit Rewards, while complying with the stay at home order.

We were informed that ASH Fitness was experiencing a high number of requests for Fit Reward credits and YMCA Membership reimbursement of virtual workouts from fitness facilities across the nation and they were reviewing all of them on a case-by-case basis. We were advised to encourage our members to log their workouts until they made a decision. As a result, we created a Virtual YMCA, complete with free, virtual group exercise classes to keep everyone engaged during this stressful time.

Today, we learned that ASH Fitness has made a decision that they will not provide credits for the virtual workouts logged through our YMCA.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. If you should have questions, please call the YMCA at 808-678-4296.
