The Transatlantic Economy 2019
Annual Survey of Jobs, Trade and Investment
between the United States and Europe

My co-author Joe Quinlan and I are pleased to release today The Transatlantic Economy 2019, the most up to date account of the dense jobs, trade and investment linkages that bind Europe and the United States and make the transatlantic economic relationship the largest in the world, directly supporting 16 million jobs, generating close to €5 trillion in commercial sales a year, and accounting for half of total global personal consumption.

This year’s edition features special topics such as the transatlantic digital economy, Brexit, and the EU-U.S. auto trade and investment landscape, as well as individual profiles for 30 European countries and all 50 U.S. states.

Our new data are also featured on a new online platform, Thriving Together, that showcases the deep ties that bind Europe and the United States. Visit the platform: thrivingtogether.eu.

Dan Hamilton
