A message from Pastor Fran
Come, Lord Jesus. This is the Advent mantra each of us is invited to whisper, chant, cry aloud, and carry in our hearts in preparation for the celebration of Christmas…Emmanuel, God with us beginning Sunday, December 2. Not only will we be worshiping in the spirit of the first Sunday of Advent, your hearts will be warmed and prepared to enter into Advent more fully as the Festival Chorale presents “Appalachian Winter” at 3:00pm on Sunday afternoon.
‘Tis the season to prepare for the Christmas celebration, to plan numerous gatherings with friends and family, and it is the season to be intentional about giving gifts. I look around our wonderful church and see the fruit of many hours of labor poured into the bricks and mortar, and the fruit of many hours of service poured into the life of the community of faith called Clemson UMC. We are all recipients of the great gifts that are given to continue the increase of God’s kingdom, not just sustain it.
That is why I ask you now, how much will you give your financial rewards from your labors and your servant time at the close of this year and for the years to come, to move beyond sustainability into growing the Kingdom of God? We are a blessed congregation and offer our thanksgiving to God for what we have – but especially for who and whose we are. May our return to God be generous and with a cheerful heart. To God be the glory for the things God has done!
If you want to experience the joy of giving this Advent and Christmas, and see God’s kingdom increase…give to this community of faith and to the glory of God through CUMC!
Come, Lord Jesus,
