This past year was challenging and turbulent on many fronts, as we witnessed multiple global crises, such as the ongoing invasion in Ukraine and the rising pressures of inflation and global inequality. And despite some progress in global efforts to respond to climate change, emissions continue to rise and the planet is getting warmer. We are not on track to meet the goals of the Paris Accord (limiting global heating to not more than 1.5º C) and our window to do so has shrunk further yet. So we have much work to do, a growing list of challenges, and less time to do it.
At BizforCimate, we remain committed to doing our part to inspire collective action and drive the changes we need to see in the world to tackle climate change. We must hasten the energy transition, drastically reduce the emissions we are putting in the atmosphere, and rapidly build out an emissions-free economy.
This will be a long journey requiring a tremendous amount of hard work and determination, but we are buoyed and encouraged by the growing coalition of courageous and progressive businesses that are supporting this cause and raising their voices at this critical time.
We thank you all for your contributions, from signing the Climate Action Pledge, to sharing the message and growing this movement, to donating your time, energy, resources, and services and to building this organization, and especially our sponsors who make this all possible.
Stay tuned for a year of action and opportunities to get further engaged, as we collectively raise our ambition and take more action. We'll achieve more together than we ever could alone.
