Emerge Knowledge Design Inc. is the environmental technology company that delivers Re-TRAC Connect™, the proven web-based software that material management professionals trust to efficiently collect, manage, and analyze recycling and solid waste data.

Why did your company sign the Climate Action Pledge?
The science is clear; a climate catastrophe is unfolding that will completely disrupt our economy, society, and environment unless we significantly reduce the amount of carbon pollution we generate as a society. Our heavy reliance on fossil fuels as an energy source is a monumental problem that will require all sectors, organizations, and individuals to be part of the solution.
As business owners, we embrace our responsibility to act. This is why we signed the pledge.
Why is it important for business owners to speak up and show leadership on climate change?
Because it sends an important signal about the urgency of the climate crisis to the rest of society generally, and policy-makers specifically.
What is something you hope BizforClimate can change through our collective efforts?
The perception that business owners don't care about their community, the environment, or the future. I know a lot of successful entrepreneurs who are also parents and citizens and care deeply about the welfare of the planet and its people.
What's a simple change you've made for the environment that other businesses could do?
We provided 100% subsidized bus passes for our employees pre-COVID and plan to restart this program when staff start working in the office again.

BizforClimate seeks to elevate the attention and resources directed towards solving the climate crisis. We promote climate action and advocate for a rapid and just transition to a zero-carbon economy. Businesses are key to leading, shaping, and fast-tracking this transition.
Companies can do much within their operations to drive sustainability, eliminate their carbon footprints, and even become a net positive influence on the natural world. This is all possible. But crucially, companies can use their clout and influence to shape the public policies required to deploy climate solutions with the speed and scale required.
BizforClimate seeks to cultivate and inspire a groundswell of engaged business leaders and advocates.
The cornerstone of our process is the Climate Action Pledge. This is the first step companies can take to communicate their support for climate action and is an ongoing focus of our activities.
At the same time, we are working hard to build capacity, elaborate our strategic plan, and gather resources to build and sustain the organization. We are also busy meeting with business and environmental organizations locally, nationally, and internationally to introduce BizforClimate, seek alignment, and build strategic partnerships.
We thank all our Signatories and supporters and are thrilled to be working with such a diverse coalition of local companies to grow this movement. We already represent nearly 70 Signatories and are growing day-by-day.
We will keep you posted, and in the weeks and months to come, we will be reaching out more with opportunities for engagement. Your input and contributions will help shape our growth and power the cause.
Please reach out to us anytime - we love hearing from you.
