We're taking a break!

Dear WAM supporters and volunteers,

As Saskatonians prepare their gardens and spirits for the inevitable winter ahead, we at WAM must announce our bittersweet entry into our own period of hibernation. After careful consideration and exploration of alternative options, the WAM Board has decided to take an extended break and temporarily cease working on implementing the projects and activities we’ve been proud to offer our community since 2007.

While we all remain committed to building a greener Saskatoon, there are two main reasons for our decision:
As for our projects:
  • Garlic: We will not be distributing garlic seed or berry bushes. All those who grew garlic this year can keep their yields, but are encouraged to donate a portion to the Saskatoon Food Bank. Resources for growing garlic of your own can be found on our website.

  • Hydration Station: The station supplies have been donated to the Bridge City Bike Co-op and instructions on how to build and run your own station will be posted on our website in the coming weeks.
Lastly, for those that would like to help send us off, we'll be hosting our annual general meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, November 19 @ 7:30 PM at the Core Neighborhood Youth Co-Op (903 20th St W). All are welcome with light snacks and refreshments provided.

As we take a step back, we thank you for your support and encourage you to continue to engage in meaningful action and conversation in efforts to build a more connected and sustainable community. We will always believe in the power of people working together to build a better tomorrow. We look forward to seeing you when it’s time to return.

All the best and remember, we are many!

Sincerely,

The WAM Team
