Alpha House of Tampa resident, Turquoise Williams, is going back to school this August to complete her Associates degree in Chemistry at Hillsborough Community College. She has already been accepted to the USF Chemistry program, with scores on the departmental entrance exam ranking her 9th in the 100 students admitted to the 2013 program. She is currently enrolled in a customer service certification class at HCC through a job training and placement program with WorkForce Alliance, an Alpha House of Tampa community partner.
Turquoise moved from the maternity residence to transitional housing after the birth of her son, Xavier, who is now 3 months old. She plans to continue working toward her education, employment, financial and parenting goals in the Alpha House transitional housing program over the next year as she prepares to move out on her own. We are happy to have this chance to celebrate Turquoise’s achievements at Alpha House of Tampa and wish her continued success.
