Trivia Question: After English and Spanish, what do you think is the most-spoken language in Michigan?

Answer: Arabic.  Does that surprise you?

A map of the United States, published in 2017 by Business Insider, shows which language is most commonly spoken at home besides English and Spanish.  Michigan joins West Virginia and Tennessee, as listing Arabic.

An Arabic-speaking church planter serving in this Great Lakes region recently came back from a visit to his home country.  He told us that when he was there, he visited a church who decided to take up an offering so they could buy and ship Christian books written in Arabic to his church plant here in Michigan. Growing the Church in the Power in the Spirit Conference

After all of the planning that goes into kicking off fall programs and activities at church, many of which may not fulfill our hopes and expectations, ministry leaders can arrive at November feeling at a loss, feeling powerless, and not sure what to do.
This November will be different.   Our Great Lakes team is honored to partner with Gold Avenue CRC and Classis Grand Rapids North to host Growing the Church in the Power of the Holy Spirit.   When we come to the end of what we can humanly do, we will be blessed by learning about what the Spirit can do through us.  I highly encourage you to register for this conference now and to put it in your calendar for November.

Growing the Church in the Power of the Holy Spirit

November 4-7@ Maranatha Bible and Conference Center

This conference will help church leaders explore how the Spirit of God can lead our churches.

We especially invite pastors to attend this conference and suggest they recruit a team of leaders from their church to participate with them for maximum impact and benefit.

Below are links for the video, brochure, and registration.
We emphasize that the story shared on this video, beautiful as it is, isn’t the main point. The main point is the approach to cooperating with the Holy Spirit, which provides the foundation for stories like this one to happen.
