SCHOOL AFTER COVID FAMILY SURVEY
OUSD invites all families to share their experiences and reflections about distance learning in our #SchoolAfterCovid Family Survey
. Oakland families like yours deserve a seat at the table as major decisions are being made about your child’s education. Your insight will help us plan for 2020-21, so please share your thoughts by taking the survey today
. It's available in multiple languages.
We also invite families and staff to share their thoughts on key questions - including about distance learning - via our Thought Exchange
online. This exchange is confidential. Your thoughts will be shared with other participants, but not your identity. You will be able to see and rate the thoughts that others have provided based on how much you agree/disagree or how important you feel the ideas are. Please visit www.ousd.org/covid-19thoughtexchange

TEACHER AND STAFF END-OF-YEAR GIFT FUND
WOW....thank you, Claremont Community! We raised over $8000 for the Claremont staff and teachers' end-of-year gift fund! The money has been distributed via Amazon gift cards since everything needs to be virtual these days and Trader Joes gift cards were not.
And a huge thank you to CMS parent Nicole Dupree for coordinating the contributions! Well done, everyone.
TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK!
The auction team is gearing up to put together an awesome online fund-raiser, and we would love your help! Most jobs require a minimal time commitment and many can be done via email or phone in your spare time (Is that a thing??). If you're available to help, please email us at email@example.com so we will happily match you with a team and activity that best suits your availability and interests.
NEED A MASK? HELP A GOOD CAUSE!
One of our wonderful Claremont parents Ginger Fields is making adult and kids size masks and selling them to raise money for the Oakland Public Education Fund. So far, these masks have raised $7360 to help feed Oakland kids! Masks are available for $15-20 each and they make wonderful gifts. ALL PROCEEDS GO TO THE FUND. If you are interested, learn more here or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
GRAB-AND-GO WILL CONTINUE
WANT TO VOLUNTEER OVER THE SUMMER?
OUSD is gearing up for June/July Food Distribution at 24 school sites and we need volunteers to help! We are looking for people who might want to volunteer time on Mondays and/or Thursdays from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm from June 1 – July 31. We are ideally looking for some consistency and for volunteers to stay at the same school sites each distribution day.
Please complete the OUSD Food Distribution Volunteer Interest Form and once vetted in the system, you will receive a Sign Up Genius link to sign up for specific slots. Thank you!
COMMUNICATION OVER THE SUMMER
Since we don't know what late-breaking news will be coming out of Sacramento about the 2020-21 school year, the Claremont staff and PTA will do our best to keep the info coming to CMS families over the next weeks. So keep your eye on our website, your inboxes, and for possible future robocalls.
Until then, enjoy the end of another school year and we wish everyone a safe, healthy summer break.
Email your submission to email@example.com. Submissions should be brief (100 to 200 words is best) and thoughtfully written, with essential times, dates and contact info included. Please remember that the Knightline is published by volunteers; extra care in preparing your item for publication will help us get your message out to the Claremont community.
Do you have an item for the Knightline?
