Outcome of the WP06 - WP07 IT TEAM meeting

The EPOS IP Project Development Board (PDB) will meet in a teleconference on February the 3rd 2017. The PDB members will discuss the preparation of the Board of Governmental Representatives meeting, which is scheduled on the 23rd and 24th of February 2017 in Warsaw, and the EPOS Integration workshop that will be held in Prague on March 1 and 2 2017.
On February the 23rd and 24th, 2017 the EPOS IP Board of Government Representatives (BGR) will have its 8th meeting in Warsaw (Poland).
The meeting is focused on discussing the step 1 submission of the ERIC and it will represent a cornerstone for the legal establishment of EPOS-ERIC.
EPOS-ERIC Statutes and the Scientific and Technical Description have been revised and finalized after the discussions and recommendations provided at the previous BGR meeting held in Vienna on November 2016.

The EPOS Implementation Phase Project will organise the 2nd EPOS Thematic Core Services (TCS) - Integrated Core Services (ICS) Integration Workshop in the beautiful city of Prague in the week February the 27th - March the 3rd 2017.
The workshop is open to the EPOS TCS and ICS communities as well as to the key partners of the EPOS IP project involved in the implementation phase of this novel infrastructure.
The workshop is dedicated to discuss the achievements in its technical implementation of data and service provision as well as the legal, governance and financial framework to build the infrastructure and open the validation phase of the implemented services. Communication and training will be also discussed to foster the full exploitation of results.
The participants will discuss issues critical to the fine-tuning of the EPOS work plan after 18 months from the beginning of the Implementation phase.
The programme includes the following topics:
  • Legal (e.g. data policy, service contracts) and Governance (e.g. Consortium Agreements) architecture
  • Financial issues affecting EPOS business plan and TCS costs book
  • Training and Communication of EPOS achievements
  • TCS-ICS Integration: interoperability, use and re-use of accessible data, metadata and service integration at the ICS.
Registration to attend the workshop is now closed. Please contact the TCS leaders to receive further information for attending the workshop.
The 5th Service Coordination Board (SCB) members will meet for the forth time on March 3rd 2017 after the TCS - ICS Integration Workshop that will be held the 1 - 2 March 2017. The meeting will be held in Prague (Czech Republic) at the same location.

Metadata provides the EPOS ICS with its “view” of what is available in the TCSs. If something is not recorded in the ICS metadata catalog users cannot see the asset in the TCS. So, it is essential to make sure metadata is complete, accurate and up-to-date.
