Have you heard?

The prevalence of keratoconus was found to be 1 in 375 in a recent study of 4.4 million Dutch citizens, aged 10 - 40 years. This is 5 - 10 times higher than previously reported. The mean age at diagnosis was 28.3 years and 60% of those diagnosed were male.

The prevalence of myopia over -6.00D was found to increase from 15% in university first years to 45% in those who complete 4 years of study or more. It helps to have studies to refer to when we present myopia control options to patients and parents.
