Hi <<First Name>>
Here we are at Day three of #AskForTraining. How are you doing so far?
Today’s topic is What are your current skills gaps?
How often do you do a self-assessment on you and your skills? For an assistant to be proactive and to be a leader, continuous learning and development is a must!
Today’s task is to fill out the self-assessment, which starts on Day 3 of your Workbook. Our self-assessment covers four areas of skills and competencies that are essential for today’s Assistant: -
-
Technology skills
-
Organisational and time management skills
-
Knowledge of your organisation
-
Leadership skills
We’ve also included a rating system of 1-4, on which you can base your assessment: -
-
Fundamental awareness (basic knowledge)
-
Intermediate (practical experience)
-
Advanced (recognized contributor with demonstrated ability)
-
Expert (strategic business partner)
Be honest in your assessment. There are no right or wrong answers, there is only room for growth and development.
You’ll also notice that we’ve kept half the page for your manager to assess your competencies too. If you can, ask your manager to fill in that side. Our suggestion is to give your manager a blank sheet to fill in, so you are not influenced by his/her ratings, and he/she is not influenced by your ratings. Don't worry if they can't complete it immediately. It shouldn't hold up your progress with the campaign.
Today's article is Five Spheres Where You Can Up Your Admin Game by Kemetia Foley.
There is also a fantastic film over on the YouTube Channel from Head of the Canary Wharf PA Club, Alice Scutchey.
