Hi <<First Name>>,
How did you get on with the self-assessment yesterday?
It’s Day 4 of #AskForTraining and today we are going to analyse your self-assessment and work out what training you will need.
Go to Day Four on your workbook. Using your results from Day Three, what are the three skills or competencies that require the most focus? If your manager also did the self-assessment, list the top three from that side too.
Which type of training would give the biggest ROI (return on investment) for you, your manager and the company?
As well as attending external training courses, think about conferences which will cover more than one topic or e-learning. Is there a training need across your team? You could look at bringing a trainer to your company to give in-house training to the entire administrative team.
Think about how you would quantify that ROI. Can you (roughly) work out how much more efficient or effective you would be in your role? How much time will you save? Is there a cost-saving?
Today’s recommended reading is two excellent articles. The first from Sandy Geroux on Assessing Administrative Value and the second on Gaining Support from your Employer to Invest in Your Professional Development from Eth Lloyd. Both can be found in our ebook.
Yesterday, we posted some great videos over on our YouTube & Social Media Channels.
We have new videos being released today from Jeremy Burrows, Dinah Liversidge, Ann Hiatt & Paula Harding. They will appear throughout the day so keep an eye out.
And the icing on the cake – we are very excited that Bonnie Low-Kramen has recorded an #adminchat especially for #AskForTraining which will be posted at 6pm BST this evening. It’s really powerful and well worth a watch.
We hope you are finding all these tools useful and that your confidence to #AskForTraining is growing.
Embrace the opportunity!
Enjoy your day and we’ll see you tomorrow.
