It’s hard to believe, we are entering the second week of August. The summer has moved so quickly, autumn is right around the corner. That special time when the sun's angle changes, things become cooler, and all of those beautiful leaves earn a fiery glow before falling. The natural backdrop changes from green to red, orange, yellow, yellow-green, and even purple the colours can are so spectacular.
As you all know Tan Alumni, Tanamakoon is one of the most peaceful and reflective settings for anyone who wants to enjoy the out doors. There is nothing like the North Land in the fall. We are so fortunate as there are some really incredible programmes for adults that are offered in the month of September.

Experience Algonquin for Mature Adults aged 50+

This flexible program allows you to choose to simply relax in a beautiful and peaceful setting or to be involved in a variety of outdoor activities. One on one instruction is offered in all areas by our very skilled and talented staff. Activities include Lapidary, Astronomy, Kayaking, Canoeing, Archery, paddle Making, Water colour Painting, photography and pottery! Participants can also enjoy exciting day trips to explore the flora, fauna and birds of Algonquin Park. Guest naturalists will lead vivid natural history presentations and hikes. Our energetic and creative staff will provide a variety of evening activities for those that wish to join us. Boat cruises, beautiful Algonquin sunsets, early fall colours, campfires, fishing, cookouts and music are only some of the added features of the program. The accommodation is cozy, the food is superb and the atmosphere is warm and friendly!
For those who know and love Algonquin this is a chance to gain a new appreciation of the Park. For those who have always wanted to visit, a reasonably priced, active week of learning awaits you!

The Tanamakoon Outdoor Centre invites you to join in a weeklong art program in the wilds of Algonquin Park. This several day course will offer participants the opportunity to develop their artistic skill in the out of doors under the supervision and leadership of exceptionally talented artists !
Lead instructor Dwayne Harty will be assisted by onsite host artist, Gene Canning who will help with instruction at the introductory levels.
Demonstrations, presentations, lectures, slides, individual and group evaluation, and hands on fieldwork at differing skill levels with one on one guidance from our instructors will make this course valuable and unique for every student.
