WATCH Extraordinary Council Meeting
Following the disruption of services since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, an Extraordinary Meeting of the District Council will be held on Wednesday 12 August to consider a report seeking approval for extra funding - requested by both Freedom Leisure and Serco - in order to reopen leisure centres here in the Derbyshire Dales and to fully implement the new waste & recycling contract. This meeting will be broadcast live on our YouTube channel.

We now have the resources to re-start bulky waste collections, which were paused during the coronavirus lockdown.

Residents' garden waste questions answered
With garden waste collections now operating to schedule across the Derbyshire Dales during the continuing coronavirus pandemic, local residents are being reminded there will be a charge for the service from April next year. More than half of all UK councils now charge residents for garden waste collections, including 39 of the 50 councils most similar to Derbyshire Dales District Council.
