Cecilia Ndlovu-Edwards: Zimbabwean Song
We have a huge variety of workshop facilitators, creatives and musicians this year at Tribe of Doris! The hugely popular Cecilia Ndlovu-Edwards will offer a chance to learn and sing songs from Zimbabwe. Focused around traditional Ndebele and Shona social singing. Coming together and singing socially plays a big part of Zimbabwean life and has always been a way to form bonds between people. The workshops will suit singers of any standard and are open to everyone.
Jon and Jason: Songs of Oshun
With live Afro-Cuban and Afro-Brazilian religious drum accompaniment, we will be singing songs in praise of water, songs for the female Orisha Oshun, the bringer of water and love to the Earth. Come and join us for beautiful call and answer songs of celebration of sacred water.

Jon and Jason are each adherents of the West African Orisha religious traditions found in Cuba and Brazil. They are well versed in the rhythms, songs and dances of these traditions, having each made their own studies in these countries.
