Wir freuen uns sehr, mit dem NFI-Klimafonds ein Baumpatenschafts-Programm zu starten, das den dörflichen Gemeinschaften in unserer afrikanischen Landschaft des Jahres in der Grenzregion von Senegal und Gambia bei der Bewältigung der Klimakrise helfen soll. Wir wollen jedes Jahr mindestens 5.000 Obstbäume pflanzen und eine kontinuierliche Unterstützung für die teilnehmenden Familien sowie Bildungsaktivitäten für die Bevölkerung gewährleisten.

Wandern für den Frieden

Unter dem Motto „Frieden in Bewegung“ setzen die NaturFreunde Deutschlands mit einer großen Friedenswanderung durch drei Länder ein Zeichen für den Frieden. Der Startschuss fällt am 26. April vor dem Europaparlament in Straßburg (Frankreich). Die Wanderung führt weiter nach Deutschland, wo es über Saarbrücken, Mannheim, Würzburg, Nürnberg, Plauen sowie Dresden bis nach Tschechien zum früheren Konzentrationslager Theresienstadt geht. Begleitet wird die Friedenswanderung von einem breiten Programm mit Kundgebungen, Führungen, Empfängen bei Bürgermeister*innen und zahlreichen Abendveranstaltungen. Mehr Informationen --->
 

Meilenstein für den Erhalt der Biodiversität

Bei der Konferenz der Vereinten Nationen über die biologische Vielfalt (COP15), die im Dezember 2022 in Montreal stattfand, wurde ein wichtiges Abkommen zum Schutz der Biodiversität bis 2030 verabschiedet. Die Biodiversitätsstrategie 2030+ enthält konkrete Maßnahmen und Ziele, um den Verlust der biologischen Vielfalt bis 2030 zu stoppen, Ökosysteme wiederherzustellen und die Rechte indigener Völker zu schützen. So sollen bis 2030 30 % der für die Biodiversität wichtigen Ökosysteme wiederhergestellt sowie 30 % der Erde (Landflächen, Feuchtgebiete, Küsten und Meere) unter Schutz gestellt sein. Dafür sollen auch die Finanzmittel für Entwicklungsländer aufgestockt werden. Mehr Informationen --->

Naturfreunde-Klimafonds News

Eine Obstbaumschule für Farako - Projekt-Update
Das neueste Projekt des Naturfreunde-Klimafonds wurde am 18. Juni 2022 in Mali gestartet. Ziel des Projekts ist die Einrichtung einer kommerziellen Baumschule zur Produktion von Obstbaumsetzlingen im Dorf Farako. Jedes Jahr sollen 1.000 Obstbäume wie Mango, Zitrone, Guave, Mandarine und Papaya produziert und gepflanzt werden. So kann die Bevölkerung mit hochwertigen Lebensmitteln versorgt, die Bodenerosion hintangehalten und dem Klimawandel entgegengewirkt werden.
Zu Projektbeginn hatte das Team aufgrund der Krisensituation im Land Schwierigkeiten, Orangen- und Papayasamen zu beschaffen. Das Projekt konnte jedoch rechtzeitig zur Mango-Saison in Mali gestartet werden. Insgesamt wurden in der Farako-Baumschule bis September 6.600 Mangopflanzen gezogen. Naturfreunde News

Die NFI-Themengruppen
Seit 2021 organisiert die NFI drei offene Diskussions- und Arbeitsgruppen zu den Themen Nachhaltiger Tourismus, Klimagerechtigkeit und EU-Politik. Ziel der Gruppen ist es, den Austausch von Erfahrungen und Fachwissen zu verbessern, die Zusammenarbeit innerhalb des Naturfreunde-Netzwerks zu fördern und neue Initiativen und Aktivitäten anzustoßen. Interessierte Delegierte aller Mitgliedsorganisationen sind eingeladen, sich aktiv einzubringen!
 
In der Themengruppe „Nachhaltiger Tourismus“ stehen in diesem Jahr die Naturfreundehäuser im Mittelpunkt – und wie es gelingt, ihre Nachhaltigkeitsperformance zu verbessern. So wurde im letzten Treffen am 19.1. ein Pilotprojekt der Naturfreunde Schweiz präsentiert, das in 5 Phasen Good Practice und konkrete Umsetzungsanleitungen für nachhaltiges Wirtschaften erarbeiten und so die Häuser konkret unterstützen wird.

Naturfreund*innen im Gespräch

Doris Banspach | Leiterin der Fachgruppe International der Naturfreunde Deutschlands
Doris Banspach engagiert sich seit vielen Jahren im Rahmen partnerschaftlicher Initiativen mit Naturfreunde-Organisationen aus dem Globalen Süden. Im Gespräch erzählt sie über die Gründe für ihr Engagement, ihre Prioritäten und ihre Visionen.

Doris, du bist seit vielen Jahren für die Naturfreunde aktiv. Wie bist du zu den Naturfreunden gekommen und was waren und sind deine persönlichen Beweggründe für deinen so engagierten Einsatz?
Ich bin als 18-Jährige auf eine Gruppe von engagierten Menschen getroffen, die in unterschiedlichen Organisationen oder Verbänden schon verankert waren: Natur- und Umweltschutzbewegungen, Gewerkschaften, Dritte-Welt-Initiativen. Bei Wanderungen zu Naturfreundehäusern ist uns die Satzung der Naturfreunde in die Hände gefallen und wir haben festgestellt, dass in diesem Verband alle unsere unterschiedlichen Interessen und Themen verankert sind. So gründeten wir eine Ortsgruppe und haben uns von Anfang an vor allem mit lokalem Natur- und Umweltschutz (Heckenpflanzungen, Amphibienschutz, Nistkästen) und mit globalen Themen beschäftigt. Es war die Zeit der Apartheid in Südafrika, der Bürgerrechtsbewegungen in Mittelamerika. Über eine Freundschaftsinitiative in El Salvador hatten wir die Möglichkeit, direkt mit den Menschen dort in Kontakt zu treten. Dadurch entwickelte sich mein Interesse und mein Engagement für die Länder des globalen Südens.

Welche Themen liegen dir bei der internationalen Naturfreundearbeit besonders am Herzen? Gibt es eine besonders schöne Erfahrung, die du mit uns teilen möchtest?
Die Vernetzung auf internationaler Ebene bietet für die europäischen Naturfreund*innen die unglaublich tolle Chance, den Blick über das eigene Umfeld hinaus zu richten. Die Auseinandersetzung mit den Lebensbedingungen in den Ländern des Globalen Südens bietet dann gleichzeitig auch die Möglichkeit, die eigene Lebenswirklichkeit zu hinterfragen, das eigene Handeln einzuordnen im Zusammenhang mit einem Beitrag zu einer gerechteren Welt.

Tree Sponsorships in Senegal and The Gambia. Together for climate justice!

We are very pleased to launch a Tree Sponsorship scheme with the NFI Climate Fund that is going to help communities in our African Landscape of the Year in the border region of Senegal and The Gambia cope with the climate crisis. Through this new initiative, we are on a mission to plant at least 5,000 fruit trees per year and guarantee ongoing support for the participating families as well as educational activities for local people! Hiking for peace

Under the motto "Peace in Motion", the Naturefriends of Germany are setting an example for peace with a big peace walk through three countries. The start will be on 26 April in front of the European Parliament in Strasbourg (France). The walk will continue to Germany via Saarbrücken, Mannheim, Würzburg, Nuremberg, Plauen and Dresden to the former concentration camp Theresienstadt in Czechia. The Peace Walk is accompanied by a broad programme of manifestations, guided tours, receptions with mayors and numerous evening events. More information --->
 

Milestone for the conservation of biodiversity

At the United Nations Conference on Biological Diversity (COP15) held in Montreal in December 2022, an important agreement was adopted to protect biodiversity by 2030. The Biodiversity Strategy 2030+ sets out concrete actions and targets to halt biodiversity loss by 2030, restore ecosystems and protect the rights of indigenous peoples. For example, 30% of ecosystems important for biodiversity are to be restored and 30% of the earth (land areas, wetlands, coasts and oceans) are to be protected by 2030. To this end, funding for developing countries is also to be increased. More information --->
 

Naturefriends Climate Fund News

A fruit trees nursery for Farako - project update
The latest Naturefriends Climate Fund project was launched on 18 June 2022 in Mali. The objective of the project is to create a commercial nursery to produce fruit tree seedlings in the village of Farako. In one year, 1,000 fruit trees such as mango, lemon, guava, mandarin, and papaya are to be produced and planted to meet the nutritional needs of the population, combat soil erosion and counteract climate change.
After the start of the project activities, the team had difficulties in obtaining orange and papaya seeds due to the various crises in the country. However, the project was launched at the time of the mango season in Mali. This allowed the project team to plant a large area of mango beds. 6,600 mango plants were growing in the Farako nursery by September. Read more on the Climate Fund Website --->
 

Naturefriends News

The NFI Thematic Groups
Since 2021, NFI has organised three open discussion and working groups on the topics of sustainable tourism, climate justice and EU policy. The aim is to improve the exchange of experiences and expertise, to promote cooperation within the Naturefriends network and to initiate new initiatives and activities. Interested delegates from all member organisations are invited to participate!

In the thematic group "Sustainable Tourism", the focus this year is on Naturefriends' houses ­­– and how to improve their sustainability performance. For example, at the last meeting on 19 January, a pilot project of the Naturefriends Switzerland was presented, which will develop good practice and concrete implementation guidelines for sustainable management in 5 phases and thus provide concrete support to the houses. Doris Banspach | Head of the International Department of the Naturefriends of Germany

Doris Banspach has been involved in partnership initiatives with Naturefriends organisations from the Global South for many years. In this interview, she talks about the reasons for her commitment, her priorities and her visions.

Doris, you have been active for Naturefriends for many years. How did you get involved with the Naturefriends and what were and are your personal reasons for your commitment?
As an 18-year-old, I met a group of committed people who were already anchored in various organisations or associations: nature and environmental protection movements, trade unions and third-world initiatives. During hikes to Naturefriends' houses, the statutes of the Naturefriends fell into our hands and we realised that all our different interests and issues were anchored in this association. So, we founded a local group and from the very start we were mainly concerned with local nature and environmental protection (hedge planting, amphibian protection, building nest boxes) and with global issues. It was the time of apartheid in South Africa, and the civil rights movements in Central America. Through a friendship initiative in El Salvador, we had the opportunity to get in direct contact with the people there. This developed my interest and commitment to the countries of the Global South.

What issues are particularly close to your heart regarding the international Naturefriends work? Is there a particularly beautiful experience you would like to share with us?
Networking at an international level offers European Naturefriends the incredible opportunity to look beyond their own immediate environments. Dealing with the living conditions in the countries of the Global South also offers the opportunity to reflect on the reality of one's own life and to classify one's own actions in the context of contributing to a fairer world.

Sous le slogan « La paix en marchant », les Amis de la Nature d'Allemagne lancent un signal en faveur de la paix, en organisant une grande randonnée pour la paix à travers trois pays. Le coup d'envoi sera donné le 26 avril devant le Parlement européen à Strasbourg (France). La randonnée se poursuivra en Allemagne, où elle passera par Sarrebruck, Mannheim, Würzburg, Nuremberg, Plauen ainsi que Dresde pour arriver en République tchèque à l'ancien camp de concentration de Theresienstadt. La marche pour la paix est accompagnée d'un vaste programme comprenant des manifestations, des visites guidées, des réceptions chez les maires et de nombreuses rencontres en soirée. Lors de la Conférence des Nations Unies sur la diversité biologique (COP15), qui s'est tenue à Montréal en décembre 2022, un accord important a été adopté pour protéger la biodiversité d'ici 2030. La Stratégie en faveur de la biodiversité 2030+ contient des mesures et des objectifs concrets visant à stopper la perte de biodiversité d'ici 2030, à restaurer les écosystèmes et à protéger les droits des peuples autochtones. Ainsi, d'ici 2030, 30 % des écosystèmes importants pour la biodiversité devront être restaurés et 30 % de la planète (terres émergées, zones humides, côtes et océans) devront être protégés. Nouvelles du Fonds pour le Climat

Une pépinière d’arbres fruitiers pour Farako – Mise en œuvre du projet
Le projet le plus récent du Fonds des Amis de la Nature pour le climat a été lancé le 18 juin 2022 au Mali. L'objectif du projet est de mettre en place une pépinière commerciale pour la production de plants d'arbres fruitiers dans le village de Farako. Chaque année, 1 000 arbres fruitiers tels que manguiers, citronniers, goyaviers, mandariniers et papayers devraient être produits et plantés. Cela permettra d'approvisionner les populations en denrées alimentaires de qualité, d'éviter l'érosion des sols et de lutter contre le changement climatique.
Au début du projet, l'équipe a eu des difficultés à se procurer des graines d'orange et de papaye en raison de la situation de crise dans le pays. Le projet a toutefois pu être lancé à temps pour la saison des mangues au Mali. Au total, 6 600 plants de manguiers ont été produits dans la pépinière de Farako jusqu'en septembre. Nouvelles des Amis de la Nature

Les groupes thématiques de l’IAN
Depuis 2021, l’IAN organise trois groupes de discussion et de travail ouverts sur le tourisme durable, la justice climatique et la politique européenne. L'objectif de ces groupes est d'améliorer l'échange d'expériences et d'expertise, de promouvoir la coopération au sein du réseau des Amis de la Nature et de lancer de nouvelles initiatives et activités. Les délégué/e/s intéressé/e/s de toutes les organisations membres sont invité/e/s à s'impliquer activement !

Cette année, le groupe thématique « Tourisme durable » se concentre sur les Maisons des Amis de la Nature – et sur la manière dont elles parviennent à améliorer leur performance en matière de durabilité. Ainsi, lors de la dernière réunion du 19 janvier, un projet pilote des Amis de la Nature Suisse a été présenté, qui élaborera en 5 phases des bonnes pratiques et des instructions de mise en œuvre concrètes pour une gestion durable et soutiendra ainsi concrètement les Maisons. Doris Banspach | Responsable du groupe spécialisé « relations internationales » des Amis de la Nature d'Allemagne

Doris Banspach s'engage depuis de nombreuses années dans le cadre d'initiatives de partenariat avec des organisations d'Amis de la Nature du Sud global. Dans cet entretien, elle nous parle des motifs de son engagement, de ses priorités et de ses visions.
 
Doris, tu es active depuis de nombreuses années pour les Amis de la Nature. Comment es-tu arrivée aux Amis de la Nature et quelles étaient et sont tes motivations personnelles pour ton engagement dévoué ?
À l’âge de 18 ans, je suis tombée sur un groupe de personnes engagées dans différentes organisations ou associations : mouvements de protection de la nature et de l'environnement, syndicats, initiatives pour le tiers-monde. Lors de randonnées vers des Maisons des Amis de la Nature, les statuts de cette organisation nous sont tombés entre les mains et nous avons constaté que tous les intérêts et thèmes que nous défendions y étaient déjà ancrés. Nous avons donc fondé un groupe local et, dès le début, nous nous sommes surtout occupés de protection de la nature et de l'environnement au niveau local (plantation de haies, protection des amphibiens, nichoirs) et de thèmes globaux. C'était l'époque de l'apartheid en Afrique du Sud, des mouvements des droits civiques en Amérique centrale. Grâce à une initiative d'amitié au Salvador, nous avons eu la chance d'entrer directement en contact avec les populations locales. C'est ainsi que se sont développés mon intérêt et mon engagement pour les pays du Sud.

Quels sont les thèmes qui te tiennent particulièrement à cœur dans le travail international des Amis de la Nature ? Y-a-t-il une expérience particulièrement positive que tu aimerais partager avec nous ?
La mise en réseau au niveau international est pour les Amis de la Nature européens une occasion formidable de porter leur regard au-delà de leur propre environnement. En nous rapprochant des conditions de vie dans les pays du Sud nous arrivons aussi à remettre en question notre propre réalité de vie, à situer nos propres actions dans le contexte d’efforts contribuant à un monde plus juste.

    Nouvelles brèves – calendrier – informations internes

Des mesures d'économie d'énergie peu ambitieuses. Il y a six mois, les chefs de gouvernement de l'UE se sont mis d'accord pour réduire de 15% les besoins respectifs de leurs pays et de 10% leurs besoins en électricité. Toutefois, un tiers des États n'ont toujours pas pris de mesures de réduction, comme le constate le Bureau européen de l'environnement. Plus d´informations --->
