PROJECT SPOTLIGHT:
Cedar Rapids Convention Center & Double Tree by Hilton

Seeking to create a visitor destination, the City of Cedar Rapids invested in significant enhancements to the U.S. Cellular Center and adjacent hotel. Miron was responsible for the addition of a new 129,000 SF convention center to the complex, which features an exhibit hall, ballroom, meeting rooms, and pre-function space. Full project description and photos.

New Hire: Dan Goymerac

Miron Construction recently hired Dan Goymerac to serve as its new vice president of industrial business development. In this role, Dan will utilize his 25 years of construction, engineering and sales experience to lead Miron’s industrial division in all aspects of business development and client relations. Miron’s Director of Conceptual Estimating Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award


Miron’s Director of Conceptual Estimating, Dave Schaetz, will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award (as presented by The Daily Reporter / Newsmakers of the Year Awards Program) at an awards banquet at the end of October. The awards program has been around since 2004, but the Lifetime Achievement Award isn’t presented every year, only when warranted.

Jeff Kanzelberger, AIA, Executive Officer of Performa, Inc. was quoted in the submission, stating “The quality that makes Dave Schaetz the very best conceptual estimator with whom I’ve ever worked is his unmatched, self-motivated desire to ‘Care Why.’ Caring selflessly about every aspect of every project participants’ success and possessing the know how and why makes Dave Schaetz a world class human being and as a result a world class conceptual estimator.”
