ArmeniaFund Pulse Newsletter                                                                                                       Volume 6  |  June 2021
Dear Friends and Family of ArmeniaFund, although we have successfully executed hundreds of programs and initiatives across a diverse set of disciplines, certain moments strike an emotional chord deep in our hearts. This past month, our programs in support of wounded Servicemen and women is one such moment that has had a profound effect on our organization.

Often, we are so caught up in day-to-day life that we take our natural physical attributes for granted. Whether we are getting out of bed in the morning, walking up and down just a few steps, or simply feeding ourselves, these daily functions, for most people, are fluid and seamless. But for those missing one or more of the body parts that grant us the ability to perform these activities, daily life can prove to be more challenging or downright impossible.
This is one of many reasons why ArmeniaFund has emphasized programs that help our wounded servicemen explore resources and learn how to make the best of their lives today and in the future with the aid of prosthetics.

We have personally witnessed the physical and psychological impact an amputation can have on a person. This is why it is so vital that ArmeniaFund continues to support these programs and the equally crucial humanitarian relief and recovery programs in Artsakh.

Our support of mental health counseling and prosthetic limb rehabilitation programs has given hope to these brave warriors and invited them to participate in recovery-based activities that strengthen the mind and body while supporting them on their paths to a happy and fulfilling life.
- A HIGHLY ADVANCED -
ORTHOTICS & PROSTHETICS LABORATORY
Established in what is respectfully referred to as the "Zinvori Tun," ArmeniaFund in partnership with the Hayastan Pan-Armenian Foundation, the Armenia Foundation of the Netherlands, Yerevan State Medical University, renowned rock band System Of A Down (SoaD), and our generous worldwide partners, celebrated the official opening "Ceremony of Protezaran."
OPENING CEREMONY
Only made possible with the compassionate support of donors, the Homeland Defenders Rehabilitation Center was established to evaluate and address the needs of Armenia & Artsakh's lionhearted service members.
Celebrated by proudly walking across the stage, the program's participants approached their wives and mothers to present beautiful bouquets of flowers to solidify their undefeated commitment to a life of prosperity.
Joining us in this endeavor has been millions of "SoaD" fans, who, for the first time in over 15 years, digitally united during several live-streamed fundraising events, which "garnered millions of streams," "And it doesn't stop there" -Forbes.
This new state-of-the-art facility serves highly specialized purposes of evaluating, designing, manufacturing, custom-fitting, and delivering robust yet comfortable orthotic devices, particularly prostheses. The process of creating life-altering assistive devices can be divided into five major phases, outlined below.
5 MAJOR PROSTHESIS PRODUCTION STAGES
Dedicated to creating these artificial limbs are a team of doctors, physical therapists, and specialists in material sciences who, like our diaspora, donors, and supporters, have united behind a vital humanitarian movement. A movement that not only recognizes the physical needs of wounded servicemen but goes above and beyond in an attempt to provide our "Homeland Defenders" what they deserve!
