We were delighted to meet with our partners in the ASEAN region during our 5th Networking and Partnership Mission last month. Among many other strides made in deepening collaboration with our partners, the mission was a fantastic way to continue planning for our 2013 Annual Meeting & Residency program from 9-23 August co-hosted by Mahidol University and APCD in Bangkok, Thailand. Amidst a flurry of IDPP activities this month, we enjoyed our first-ever visit from CIDP alumni to the American University campus by Raphael Domingo and Mackie Calbay from the Philippines, who were chosen as Empower fellows by the U.S. Department of State. We look forward to an exciting summer and sharing the latest with you!

Current CIDP Master's student Ms. Azeera Ariffin was the subject of a feature article on the General Election Network for Disability Access’ (AGENDA) Web site on 14 May 2013 for her outstanding work in community development and disability rights throughout her home country of Malaysia.

Ms. Ariffin recently completed her SIS practicum project through IDPP Executive Director Dr. Derrick Cogburn's CIDP practicum course "Cross-Cultural Communication in Global Virtual Teams."

During the semester, Ms. Ariffin worked with AGENDA on optimizing their Web site to enhance user engagement and increase their virtual presence in the region. The IDPP is proud of Ms. Ariffin's career-long commitment to advancing the rights of PWDs!
