Even as we ask our members of Congress to fight Trump at the national level, there's a lot of work to be done here in Montgomery County to prevent our country from aiding and abetting the Trump agenda locally.

General Meeting

We'll hear from experts on our county's sanctuary status, police reform, fighting Islamophobia, and surveillance. We will break into working groups on each issue to develop plans to:
  • Strengthen sanctuary in the county, its cities, and the state to protect our neighbors from Trump's draconian immigration policies;
  • Challenge county programs that promote Islamophobia;
  • Promote police reform by improving accountability, and ending discriminatory profiling and excessive militarization;
  • Get transparency on what surveillance tools local police forces are using, and what information about us they are sharing with state and federal agencies.
For background and specifics on each of these campaigns, see here.
