Freedom to boycott lobby night, Feb 8

Originally scheduled for January 25, a "Freedom to Boycott" lobby night co-sponsored by BORDC/DDF and Freedom2Boycott in Maryland has been rescheduled for Monday, February 8.

What's it about? For the second time in three years the Maryland General Assembly may consider legislation to kill free speech rights for those who take a dissenting view on the Middle East. This time there is word of a bill that would blacklist companies that participate in the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement (to support human rights in Palestine), prohibiting the State of Maryland from doing business with them.

Defend dissent by contacting your legislators today! The right to boycott has been affirmed by the Supreme Court, and -- together with the Bill of Rights Defense Committee/Defending Dissent Foundation and the Freedom2Boycott coalition -- we don’t plan to let the Maryland General Assembly deny that right to people in the Free State!

You can participate in this campaign in two ways:
1) Send an email to your legislators today
2) Join us in Annapolis for a statewide advocacy evening on February 8! (any time between 5-9pm) (just ignore questions about past dates)

More on the issue here.

Thanks for all you do!
