Since 9/11, the national security and surveillance state has run amok under both the Bush and Obama administrations. “The top-secret world the government created in response to the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, has become so large, so unwieldy and so secretive that no one knows how much money it costs, how many people it employs, how many programs exist within it or exactly how many agencies do the same work.”

Petition: Van Hollen, Delaney wrong on NSA
Please add your voice to our petition
expressing deep disappointment with Congressmen Van Hollen and Delaney for their July votes against the Amash-Conyers amendment that would have stopped NSA surveillance. The petition also urges them to co-sponsor and vote for legislation prohibiting bulk collection of our communications metadata under the PATRIOT Act and FISA Amendments Act, providing for review of violations in a real, public court, and investigating those responsible for the surveillance programs revealed so far.
