Insurance Changes: Important Information for Condo Owners
Effective January 1, 2020, Condominium Corporations will be able to seek recovery of the deductible portion of the Corporation’s insurance claim (up to a maximum of $50,000) from an Owner for damages that originates from the Owner’s unit or privacy area.
2020 REALTORS® Housing Forecast
The Realtor Association of Edmonton held its 2020 Forecast in January. A modest increase in values is expected this year.
- Single Family prices are expected to rise 0.4% (average of $426,768)
- Condo prices are expected to rise 0.2% (average of $228,339)
- Half Duplex prices are expected to rise 0.3% (average of $334,476)

Looking to Spring
Although it’s February, it’s not uncommon for condo owners to already be thinking about plans they have for the spring – like gardening, doing a home improvement or, in some cases, preparing their condo for sale. In fact, spring is traditionally a time when the real estate market starts to become more active.

- For the month of January, single family home unit sales are up 2.52%, and condo unit sales
decreased 5.94% from the same period of time last year. All residential average prices are up slightly at $351,002 a 3.85% increase from January 2019.
