West Egg Dining Room and Patio Re-Open Wednesday, June 17, Reservation Only

We are excited to open back up for you. We are all adjusting to new challenges in this current environment and ask for your cooperation and patience. We promise to continue to do all within our power to keep you and our team healthy and safe and happy to be here. In turn, we ask you to do the same. Treat each other with respect. Assume that everyone around you lives with their Grandma and needs to take the utmost care not to return home and compromise her health. Among other things, we encourage all guests to wear masks when they are not seated at their tables.

We don't like so many rules, but we figure it's best to put it all out there at the get go so we can set and meet expectations. Of course, as we've learned over the last 3 months, so much can change day-to-day, and we'll keep updated house rules on our website. For now, given the COVID-19 situation, including governmental regulations limiting seating capacity and our own desire to keep our staff and guests safe and comfortable, here is how we plan to proceed with our dine-in service (takeout and delivery, including online ordering and curbside pickup, continue as usual):
  1. Reservations are required Saturday and Sunday and encouraged Wednesday through Friday.  In order to avoid congregating of guests waiting to be seated, we will not keep a wait list nor allow guests to wait in the restaurant; either you have a reservation or we have a table available.  If you walk in and the host informs you that there is no table available, please make a reservation through Resy and then return at your reservation time.
  2. There is a non-refundable $7 per person fee paid at the time of making the reservation.  This fee holds your reservation and includes your choice of drip coffee or fountain drink as well as Chef Andrew’s cheddar biscuits (no substitutions) for the table.  If you cancel your reservation more than 48 hours prior to the reserved time, we will donate the cover fee to a charitable organization of our choosing; currently that organization is Color of Change.  If you cancel within 48 hours of your reserved time, or do not show up for your reservation, we will keep the cover.
  3. We will take your order at the counter, then escort you to your table. You can familiarize yourself with the menu in advance at our website.  After you are seated and your food has been delivered, we will not approach the table unless you signal for additional service using our "service flag."  While this is not the level of hospitality we normally would hope to provide, we want to keep person-to-person interactions limited and controlled for everyone’s safety and comfort.
  4. There will be no tipping.  Instead, there will be a 20 percent service charge added to your bill.  The entirety of the service charge, minus any third-party processing fees, will be divided among all non-management employees working at that time, including employees who otherwise would not be allowed to share in tips under a traditional tipping system.  All our staff is working hard to serve you, so we want all to share in this service charge.
  5. The table will be yours for 45 minutes from your reservation time.  Please make sure your entire party is aware of this limitation.  While late arrivals may join you, we must ask that the table be cleared on schedule regardless of anyone’s arrival time.  Again, this is not the level of hospitality we normally would hope to provide; however, with restricted capacity required by distancing and a reservation-only system, we must seat tables hourly for dine-in service to be viable.  The extra 15 minutes allows us time to clean and sanitize the table thoroughly between seatings. 
  6. When you choose to dine with us, whether by reservation or walk-in, you are asserting that you and all members of your party do not have a fever or any other symptoms of COVID-19, have not been diagnosed with COVID-19, and have not been in contact with anyone you know to have COVID-19.
