MABC Region News:
A clever invitation for Easter Service from FBC Dubuque, Iowa

Supporting Refugees from Afghanistan
The Rochester Genesee ABC Region has invited us to join a conversation that they have set up on this topic. Over the past several months, about 70,000 people from Afghanistan have been resettled in the U.S. with temporary status, following their emergency evacuation from Afghanistan. In the immediate future, several thousand more are expected. Many churches, including ABC congregations, have been involved already in resettlement efforts as co-sponsors working with Church World Service and other Refugee Resettlement Agencies. Others have expressed interest in doing so, or are assisting in other ways. Join Rev. Peter J.B. Carman, Mission Liaison for Afghan Refugees and Evacuees with American Baptist Home Mission Societies to share what your congregation is doing with refugees from Afghanistan or to find out more about how you can get involved. Tuesday, April 19th, 6:00 p.m. Central / 7:00 p.m. Eastern Zoom

Dear Friends, We are looking forward to a fantastic summer camping season & wanted to invite you to visit the camp. We will be having an Open House / Camper Day on April 30th from 10am-3pm. There will be lots to do at the camp – including a wagon ride to our new swimming pond, a hike to the cabins, tour the updates in the lodge, & scheduled activities for kids and adults, and lunch will be provided. There is no cost to attend this event, but donations are always welcome. If you haven’t been to the camp in a while, we invite you to see all the new additions and updates that have occurred since your last visit. If you have campers that aren’t sure about camp, we invite you to bring them so they can see what a special place camp is – especially at Dayton Oaks Camp. If you’ve never been to Dayton Oaks Camp, we’d like to invite you to check out the camp to see just what you’ve been missing. We are also looking for any volunteers who would like to help with this event. We will need volunteers for activities and preparing & serving the meal. Hope to see you at camp! Matt & Dani

Saturday, May 14, 2022 Lunch provided will be provided.

Forest Lake Venture 2022
May 9 - 14, 2022
NOTICE! The workweek for volunteers at Forest Lake Camp is May 9-14 this year. That is a little later than other years. I hope each of you will be able to help get things ready for the season again this year. Trail grooming and bridge inspection are needed. Also, picnic table repairs, cabin maintenance, linoleum floor in a bathroom, outside spring clean-up, plumbers assistant, cabins readied for the quickly approaching season, cleaning and painting the entrance sign. It will be nice working with you again this year. I have found that doing things at our camps is greatly needed and it is another way to help out a little beyond the financial needs. Let the camp (or me) know your plans when you know them for this year’s Forest Lake Venture '22. Gary Morrison campstardad@gmail.com 515-729-7722
