American Baptists are Called to Pray
MABC Region News:
On April 8th, we held an Easter Hop and shared the story of Jesus with the community through different stations.
Each family received a guide book and each station led up to the Resurrection of Jesus.
I have been meaning to touch base with you for quite a while. I am not sure if you remember me, but we met shortly after I finished Seminary over a year ago. The past year has been quite a journey, but I am happy to inform you that I have begun my ministry in Nicaragua. I arrived here a couple days ago and will start school to learn Spanish on May 2nd. I will also be staying with a Spanish only speaking family while in school. This is all part of my immersion for the next 3 months. I was able to get financial support from 3 churches.
1st Baptist of Ottumwa, Fairfield, and Mt Pleasant.
I am currently the Vice President of Shining the Light Ministries out of Fairbury, Illinois. I have attached our latest newsletter for you. It highlights a little of my story and some of the pictures are from the service at 1st Baptist of Fairfield where there were representatives from all 3 churches to celebrate the work of God in my life and their coming together to support me as a missionary in Leon, Nicaragua.
This region provided support as I worked through seminary and that support was essential in helping to guide me to where I am today in my relationship with Christ and the ministry he has me working on now. Thanks and many blessings to you and the region!!!

Forest Lake Venture 2022
May 9 - 14, 2022
NOTICE! The workweek for volunteers at Forest Lake Camp is May 9-14 this year. That is a little later than other years. I hope each of you will be able to help get things ready for the season again this year. Trail grooming and bridge inspection are needed. Also, picnic table repairs, cabin maintenance, linoleum floor in a bathroom, outside spring clean-up, plumbers assistant, cabins readied for the quickly approaching season, cleaning and painting the entrance sign. It will be nice working with you again this year. I have found that doing things at our camps is greatly needed and it is another way to help out a little beyond the financial needs. Let the camp (or me) know your plans when you know them for this year’s Forest Lake Venture '22. Gary Morrison firstname.lastname@example.org 515-729-7722
