Our upcoming Biennial Region Gathering Theme and Logo taken from Ephesians Chapter 4
Plans are well underway for our Region's Biennial Gathering happening Friday, September 30 - Saturday, October 1st to be held in person at FBC Pella, Iowa. The Biennial begins with worship on Friday evening and ends after lunch on Saturday. The Ministers Council will have a dinner for clergy before the start of Worship. Please make plans to attend and make sure members of your congregations are also present as we will have region business to attend to and will need a quorum of church delegates in addition to a great program for our time together. Registration and Lodging information will be forthcoming.

First Baptist Church of Waterloo IA has been collecting items for Milwaukee Christian Center and delivered them July 26. Karen Higgins, the director, gave us a great tour of this 2 story brick building before we went to another site where the youth were involved in day camp. The next day another way we helped was by filling boxes of food.

First Baptist Church - Church of the Brethren, Cedar Rapids

In Mid June we had our annual ArtCamp VBS.  Our theme was "Make Waves" Our theme verse this week: “Whoever believes in me…rivers of living water will flow from within them.” John 7:38.  Kids ages 5 years to 5th grade created works of art while learning through Bible lessons about their creator, how to have a Ripple Effect on others by using the gifts from the Holy Spirit.  Pictures are from their Fruit of the Spirit mixed media pieces, our Gallery Night, and the process of creating.          ----Dina Brake

First Baptist Church of Charles City has a challenge for Mid-ABC youth!

We have the opportunity to bid on and purchase a new bus for Dayton Oaks Camp.

The Charles City School district is auctioning off a used school bus this summer and if we can raise between $1200 and $2000 we will be able to purchase the bus.

We need your help. We are challenging Mid-American Baptist churches to host a dinner and a movie night with all funds raised going to the Dayton Oaks Bus fund. All you have to do is get your youth together, plan your meal, pick a movie, and set your prices. You collect all funds. Any checks can be written directly to your church and at the conclusion of your event please just send one check to First Baptist Church of Charles City with Dayton Oaks Bus designated in the memo. The winning Youth Group will receive the Fundraiser of the Year Trophy!

Please have all events completed and funds collected by August 15.

What's your church up to these days?

Send us photos with a brief explanation so that we can share them with the MABC Family in an upcoming edition of the BodyBuilder.
