God's love and light shines in the midst of this pandemic!!!!!
Opportunities to be MABC BodyBuilders - working together to build up the Body of Christ during this Covid 19 pandemic

For those that may not know what these represent - they are the envelopes that MABC Churches return to the Region office with their mission support checks that support our global servants, ABCUSA Institutions, National and International ministries, Love Gift , Dayton Oaks, Forest Lake and the Region office.  I want to personally thank you for continuing to be faithful to your financial commitments to the region and our denomination in these days. Thank you so much. Every time the mail arrives here at the office, I smile when I see these envelopes because I know that there are so many that benefit from your benevolence. Again, thank you so much for being a part of the MABC and the ABCUSA Family as we continue to be the hands and feet of Christ building up the Body!    Peace, Jackie

Our son Caleb William James Krohg was born May 3, 2020 at 3:09 PM! He weighed 8 lbs, 5 oz and was 20.75" long. Everyone is doing great! We appreciate your prayers! Christian and Kara Krohg

Children & Youth Resources from First Baptist of Greater Des Moines

Offerings for Children Youth & Families that might be helpful to other churches. If you are interested the YouTube channel is at:
 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVtc4LqU_mhr7CDW1y8krwQ/.
There are Children’s Devotions daily, with the Bible Story emphasized on Wednesday morning. There are weekly youth lessons on Wednesdays (daily devos for youth are on Instagram Stories), and weekly caregiver messages. I supplement these with Zoom hangouts once a week, but churches could use the lesson material and do their own zooms, or just use the lessons without any live supplement. Our curriculum has temporary lifted copyright restrictions due to the pandemic, so that I can offer this publicly. Emily Beltrame - Minister of Children, Youth, & Families at First Baptist of Greater Des Moines

Please send me your pictures, resources and stories of how your church is creatively working in this pandemic to be MABC Bodybuilders - Building up the Body of Christ. We will feature them in upcoming editions of the BodyBuilder. exec@mid-abc.org

Clergy Check-in with Jackie

Colleagues, you remain in my thoughts and prayers as together we navigate this new pathway trusting always in God's promise to walk with us through these challenging times. Below are two opportunities to check-in with one another and with me. One is in the morning and the other is in the evening. Choose the one that best fits your busy schedules. It has been a fruitful time to meet with pastors throughout the region, to share ideas and get to know one another. I would also like to hear how you have adapted and if you have returned to face to face worship - how it is going.  If there are questions or needs that have arisen - this would be a great time to share with me and others. Together we can find solutions. So please consider joining me this Thursday, May 21st .

Like all of you, American Baptist Women's Ministries has been concerned about the COVID-19 pandemic and the challenges we have had to face. We are concerned about the inability to be at church on Sunday morning, health of loved ones, financial burdens, loss of jobs, social distancing, and limited access to many of our everyday activities. We invite you to join us in a virtual time of prayer on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at 7:00 PM Eastern Time as we unite as one to pray together about our hopes and concerns.

COVID-19 Assessment Survey of ABC Congregations

The members of the National Executive Council and Regional Executive Ministers Council are conducting a survey of American Baptist congregations to assess the impact of COVID-19.  Your answers will enhance our national response to the needs and opportunities created by this global health crisis. Only one person in the congregation needs to complete the survey. The best person to complete this survey would be the pastor or other knowledgeable person in the congregation. The survey should take approximately 5-7 minutes to complete. We appreciate you and we appreciate the time taken to fill out this survey.   COVID-19 ABC Congregational Survey May 2020
