Robson Reading Series

Join us at the UBC Bookstore at Robson Square for three lively author readings. Nyla Matuk, Alix Ohlin and Matthew Tierney will be reading on Thursday, December 13 at 7 p.m. Robson Reading Series events are free and open to the public.

Graphic novel presentation and exhibition

Jillian Lerner will present on the Peerless Prodigies of P.T. Barnum exhibition. The event is free and open to the public, Thursday, December 6 at 4 p.m. in the Lillooet Room at the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre.

Sketches of Hudson Bay Life
As a young man H. Bullock Webster (1855-1942) came to Canada from England and began working as an apprentice clerk for the Hudson's Bay Company in 1874. From 1974 to 1880 he compiled an album of some ninety-three colour sketches depicting social life, activities, customs and dress in and around Hudson's Bay Company posts.

library buildingUBC Library and Peking University agreement

UBC Library and the Peking University Library (PKU Library) look forward to collaborating on collections, cataloguing and more thanks to an innovative agreement between the two organizations.
The agreement involves the exchange of staff and expertise related to cataloguing and conservation, especially for Asian materials. The libraries may also exchange academic works from professors at UBC and PKU.

Game logoExperience the Gold Mountain Quest adventure game

The Gold Mountain Quest video game enables players to experience life as a Chinese Canadian youth in 1910, and explore historically accurate culture in the fictional town of Gold Mountain. This game, part of the Chinese Canadian Stories project, is a joint effort of students from the Centre for Digital Media at Great Northern Way Campus and Catstatic Interactive.
