WARM Fire Sale

Get your box of Burnables* ready for WARM's September Fire Sale
Every artist owns artworks created in periods of career development that no longer represent their current philosophy, process, or technique. WARM Fire Sale event provides the opportunity for works to find new homes along with the opportunity for the renewal of the artist’s creative spirit. WARM’s Fire Sale event calls for WARM and Franconia Sculpture Park artists to contribute works through donation that no longer support current creative art investigation. These works will be available for reclamation/rescue by event attendees at Franconia’s Art and Artist’s Celebration, Saturday, September 28, 2019, for a nominal fee until a conclusion when UNCLAIMED works are to be committed to fire.
Why burning? Fire is often used to cleanse and promote new life. Jack pine seedlings grow well after a hot forest fire. In Shamanism fire ritual can be used for releasing a quality that's no longer serving you. This ritual involves creating or finding an object to represent a personal quality that is no longer serving oneself - such as stubbornness. When one is ready to let go of that quality the object is thrown in the fire and burned.
Requirements
Art works must be non-toxic to humans and the environment. Allowable: Paper: drawings, watercolors, prints Lightweight textiles (non-synthetic)
Not allowed: Cardboard, glass, metal, clay, paintings, and plastics cannot be submitted for display or for burning.
Artwork submitted is considered as a donation to WARM
