Join us for Embodying Hysteria, a writing workshop and open mic reading in response to the Hysteria exhibit in the Larson Gallery. Women's Art Resources of Minnesota (WARM) member, Sarah Ratermann Beahan, will facilitate a discussion about the word hysteria, its origins and what the word evokes.

Be sure to bring a notebook and writing utensil to participate in the workshop. This event is open and free to all! You are also welcome to attend the open mic as an listener if you'd prefer not to participate in the writing workshop. Light snacks will be provided.

WARM Member Jes Reyes will be kicking off a new series of interviews by getting to know artists she thinks highly of. She kicks off Artists I Admire with an interview with Bunny Portia in mid-February. All interviews will be found on Jes's website: www.jesreyes.com. "My love and support for artists is endless, " Jes says. "With these interviews I want to bring artists together, building larger and stronger creative communities." On Location Drawing Co-op will heading over to the Midtown Global Market to catch a glimpse of the busy market place. Come join us for fellowship and fun while drawing the shops and folk who pass us by.


We will meet up at Taco Cat right at noon. This is a free co-op bring your drawing supplies. If you have questions please contact Katie@thewarm.org for further details.

  • Summer Gallery Internship - Lanesboro Arts’ Juried Sales and Exhibition Art Galleries under the direction of Gallery Director Robbie Brokken.   • The Minnesota State Arts Board has launched a search for a digital communications coordinator. This important new, part-time position is being created to research, provide advice, develop, and implement strategies and tactics that will enable the Minnesota State Arts Board to maximize its use of digital communication to serve constituents.   • Call for art - Rochester Contemporary Art Center’s 6x6 exhibition brings together thousands of original artworks, made and donated by celebrities, international & local artists, designers, youth and YOU. This year marks the 12th year of 6x6 exhibitions and with your participation we hope to reach deeper into the global art community.
  • St. Louis Park Art Fair is now Accepting Applications - St. Louis Park's 2nd Annual Art Fair will be held on September 14, 2019 at the beautiful and covered ROC (Recreation Outdoor Center). Applicants must pay a $15 nonrefundable application fee to be considered. Vendor selections will be based on quality and uniqueness. Established and emerging makers are encouraged to apply. Application deadline: March 25, 2019  Applicants will be notified of selection by early April.

  • "Tapestry Treasures from the Collection of Carol Johnson" - lecture on February 25th at Weaver's Guild of Minnesota. Visit here for more information and to register.
  • Artistry  is pleased to announce Urban Parallels: A Celebration of the History and Legacy of Ceramics in Glasgow, Scotland, an art exhibition featuring the work of artists Susan O’Byrne, Livia Marin, Jonathan Wade, Dawn Youll, James Rigler, and Andrea Walsh. The exhibition runs March 1 – 30, 2019, concurrent with Claytopia, the National Council on Education for Ceramic Artists (NCECA) conference.
  • The first in a series of NEMAA art night fundraisers at Bauhaus Brew Labs, we welcome artist Jade Huynh to demo her intricate designs and teach participants the art of origami. Tickets are $12 online, $15 at the door.
  • Evening for Educators at the Walker Art Center - this exclusive evening for educators where you can enjoy after-hours access to the Walker's new exhibition, 5 Ways In: Themes from the Collection, participate in gallery and art-making activities, and enjoy refreshments on us! Please submit your content for the WARM Wednesday newsletter by using the submission form on the WARM website. The next deadline for submission is Wednesday, March 6th for items to be published in the March 13th Newsletter. There is only ONE newsletter published per month, so please plan accordingly. Thanks!

Members may submit one item per newsletter. If you have multiple items or a lengthy description, you may submit a single item with summaries and links to postings elsewhere. Non-members may send items to news@thewarm.org for consideration.
