Apple Picking Around San Diego County
Apple Starr Orchards - We are certified organic orchard since 2002 (CCOF) growing apples and pears in Julian located at the very end of Julian Orchards Drive. We are approximately 1 hour from San Diego and 2 hours from Orange County. Our fruit ripens on the trees and will be available for picking beginning this year in mid August and we estimate will last till early October. Our hours are from 10am to 5pm on weekends and for groups by appointment only on Wednesdays .
Calico Ranch - is a family-run apple and pear orchard located near the historic town of Julian. They offer picnic talbes available under the huge shady oak trees. Hours are on Saturdays and Sundays during the season from 10-4pm. You get a 1/2 peck bag to fill for $10 (cash only). Opening day still has not been determined but is typically the beginning of October. For groups please call 858-586-0392 Mon-Fri. |

Joy of Parenting
Repeatable content blocks: Repeatable sections are noted with plus and minus signs so that you can add and "What's the secret to a joyful family?" It's really no secret, simple think about what it takes to cook your favorite dish. Too much of one ingredient can overpower and ultimately ruin it. Too little of another can leave the dish flavorless and unfullfilling. But when you get the right balance of ingredients and you know when to use them, the result is a delicious, satisfying meal. When it comes to creating joyful families, each family will have its own recipe and distinct flavor. However, the one key ingredient that is absolutely essential to a joyful family is love. Love is where joy comes from. It's where caring, respect and even responsibility come from. When you learn to infuse love into everything you do, including discipline, you'll be cooking up the family of your dreams. "The Joy of Parenting" will give you tools on how to do just that. Taught by founder/author Susie Walton. The cost is $225/person, $350/couple, $150/RCB grad.
