Kid Ventures to Open Liberty Station Facility in December
- Premier indoor enrichment, creative center for young children to add third county location -
Kid Ventures, San Diego’s only boutique-style indoor “edutainment” facility for young children, announced plans to open its third location in the county at Liberty Station in December.
The 5,500-square-foot venue will include a play village with fun, education-oriented themed rooms as well as a cafe and wifi area for parents.
“Unlike pure recreational centers, our focus is to maximize the senses for both children and parents while fulfilling many social, physical and emotional needs,” said Darren Solomon, Co-founder of Kid Ventures. “Most of our team members are studying for or have obtained a degree in early childhood development and education-related studies. This unique combination of activities and trained people makes Kid Ventures an important and routine part of our customers’ child development regimen, and we’re excited to bring this experience to families in Point Loma.”
The new Kid Ventures will be located at 2816 Historic Decatur Road, Suites 101, 105 and 107, San Diego 92106.

Parents of Children With Learning Disabilities
Linsey McMillan, M.A., and I am a doctoral candidate in the Clinical Psychology Program at Alliant International University in San Diego, California.
She is conducting a study on parents of children with learning disabilities (i.e. dyslexia and problems with math, spelling, writing, and reading) and support groups. I am currently recruiting parents of children with learning disabilities as research participants.
Some participants will be invited to join a free professionally facilitated support group located at Jewish Family Service of San Diego. The approximate cost for such a group at Jewish Family Service is normally $90. Participation is voluntary and includes filling out some forms and completing an interview that will take approximately 90 minutes. The group will be held weekly on Tuesdays from 6:00-7:30pm for a total of 8 sessions.
If you have any questions about this study or how you might help, please reply to this e-mail or contact me at linseym@jfssd.org or (858) 637-3075. .

Potty Training Made Easy
In the midst of our frustration over diaper changes or accidents, it's easy to forget that all children will eventually learn to use the potty. Make this transition stress free for you and your child by learning the ins and outs of potty training from an expert, Noni Levi, MFT. You'll learn how to tell when a child is ready, how to encourage your child to use the potty and even when to call it quits for a while until your child is truly ready to get down and potty.
This event is free for Parent Connection members, $10/nonmembers.
Monday, September 15, 7-9pm, Scripps Mende Well Being-UTC
