Update from the Head Master
Please find attached a letter from the Head Master.

Some Reminders
Please can parents ensure their boys come with each of the following every day:

  • A face mask
  • Hand sanitiser gel
  • Food for break time
Boys are not able to enter any school buildings without a face mask. We have a limited supply of disposable masks, but in future we will issue a conduct concern to boys who need to be given these because they have not brought their own. Boys need their own hand gel as well and must use it regularly throughout the day.

Information about the IB Diploma
Parents who wish to be more informed about the International Baccalaureate will be interested in the following information to inform discussions about Sixth Form choices:

  1. This article by Sir Anthony Seldon, who is a strong advocate of the IB, a leading educationalist and the former Head Master of Wellington College.
  2. Key findings from research on the impact of the Diploma Programme is research commissioned by the IBO about the impact of the diploma on university performance, and gives interesting analysis of the university results of comparable A-Level and IB students.
  3. A study of the post-secondary outcomes of International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme alumni in leading universities in Asia-Pacific is IBO research on the skills developed by IB students. A particularly interesting feature is the impact of the diploma on the development of 'soft' skills that are desired by many employers.
Mr Finch, the Director of IB, is keen to meet with any boys or parents who wish to discuss the diploma in more depth; he can be contacted by email
