Colorado Gives Day: Mark your calendar
As we started to look back on the year, we had a moment of pride at all that Community Cycles has done in 2021, considering we are still experiencing a global pandemic. With your donation, we can go even further in providing free and affordable bikes to our community and lobby for better bicycle commuting infrastructure. During Colorado Gives Day, between now and Dec. 7, 2021, our goal is to raise $20,000. Schedule your gift today: Donate Today!
What our service to our community in 2021 looked like:
The reopened DIY bike repair shop and bike care and repair workshops.
EBike Pilot program: Awarded 50 electric bikes to low-income essential workers. We were one of six organizations to received a grant from the Colorado Energy
Giving away 300+ kids bikes! Our Kids Bike Giveaway was held in April, after postponing in December 2020 due to COVID.
Our Advocacy Committee ramped up work with the City and County on traffic calming treatments (curb extensions and crossing treatments), plus the new underpass at 30th and Colorado is a welcome addition to a dangerous intersection.
We hosted the first ever City Council candidate forum addressing cycling and transportation. We did this In partnership with Boulder Mountainbike Alliance and Cyclists 4 Community encouraging politicians to consider cycling infrastructure
We cannot say enough wonderful things about how our staff has stepped up during this challenging year, pivoting to more virtual and distanced offerings and getting back to in-person workshops and events as the possibilities opened up.
We can only do this when you are a part of our team. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation so we can continue our advocacy work on better bicycle commuting infrastructure, getting more people on bikes, and keeping those bikes rolling!
