Walk & Bike Month

September Walk & Bike Month is approaching! This month-long celebration of walking and biking will include more than 60 free community events with many Boulder-based, bike-friendly organizations. Take a look and join in

Bike to Work Day is September 22

Bike to Work Day returns with all the breakfast stations you’ve come to expect! This is a great opportunity to get your friends out to ride and also get to know the people and companies that support this great community event. Breakfast stations will be open 6:30-9:00 a.m. and will be posted when available. Let us know you'll be riding on Bike to Work Day here, and help show the impact of taking 30,000 or more cars off the road in a day by highlighting residents' desire to commute by bike, which supports the efforts to improve biking infrastructure.

Host a Bike to Work Day Breakfast Station

Promote your business and be part of the best community event in town. It’s free to host a breakfast station and it’s a great way to connect with the community. Read requirements and sign up here.

Guided Bike to Work Rides

“Can Do Colorado” eBike Program – August Update

Did you know that Community Cycles gave away electric bikes to low-income essential workers in July? Fifty people who live or work in Boulder County were chosen through an application process, with the goal to reduce Boulder’s carbon emissions from single occupancy vehicles. We hosted five events to get bikes to those chosen. Recipients included employees at Boulder Community Health and the University of Colorado – Boulder, plus several people living Boulder County Housing Authority residences.

Everyone who received an ebike will use the “Can Do Colorado” SmartPhone app to track their rides to show how they are saving carbon emissions. There’s a dashboard on the Can Do website where you can follow along to see how riders are doing as a group.

Read more about the ebike program.

Mechanics Hard at Work

The bicycle industry has been hit hard by COVID 19. And with the return of CU students, our mechanics are working as fast as they can to keep an inventory of bikes, but it’s going quickly! We did manage to get some cool Community Cycles SWAG, including socks, shirts and hoodies. Swing on by and try some on and say hello!

Follow us on Instagram for photos of the latest bicycles that we’ve refurbished, repaired and restored for your pedaling pleasure.

*Bike Tips*

School starts this week for many kids in the Boulder area. Consider biking to school! Check out the Boulder Valley School District’s website for tips on safely biking to school. And be sure your kids have good locks to secure their bikes.

Please Don’t Park Your Motor Vehicle in the CC Parking Lot

Our neighbors in the front half of the building are getting very angry about customers and members parking in their spots and have begun issuing fines to Community Cycles. Please park on Spruce Street; there are many free street parking spaces available.

Bicycle Donations

Donations are accepted Thursday-Sunday 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Be mindful that Community Cycles is in a residential neighborhood and unattended donations attract crime. Please drop off bicycles for donation only when we are open.  We can also pick up your bicycle donation.
