Vision Zero Improvement Program Needs Your Input

Please provide your input on the new inexpensive infrastructure that is popping up around town.  We need quick-build and affordable projects to make Boulder safer for pedestrians and cyclists, like the median island at Grinnell & Viele Channel Path pictured below.  Also, let City staff know your input to the proposed Group 2 projects.

30th & Colorado Underpass and Protected Intersection

Construction is beginning on two underpasses and a protected intersection at 30th & Colorado. This is the first of many improvements on the 30th Street corridor, including protected bike lanes, which are now partially funded for south of Arapahoe. More info

Bike Tips: ABC Quick Check

Many of you are likely starting to pull out your bikes for the first time in 2021. Congratulations! There’s nothing better than getting outside in the fresh air and pedaling on the multi-use paths, trails and roads.

Before you hop on your bike, it’s always good to do an ABC (Air/Brakes/Chain) Quick Check so you’re not caught unaware while riding.

Education Coordinator Position Available

Community Cycles is hiring an Education Coordinator. This position serves Community Cycles’ mission by directing its educational offerings. The Coordinator designs curricula, recruits and trains instructors, teaches classes as needed, coordinates enrollment, and oversees instructor and student assessment. The Coordinator ensures that all Community Cycles course offerings, in keeping with our stated values, contain an environmental awareness component advocating for bicycles as transportation, an advocacy component that familiarizes them with our political and social-justice work, and an apprenticeship component in the form of volunteer hours.

Tidying Up

New for 2021 is neatness and organization. If you haven’t been in the shop lately, please come check us out! We have been working hard at making the shop more presentable: Let us know what you think!

Bikes for Sale

Your best bet: Put your mask on and physically come into the shop and have a look around. Please note that it is impossible for us to list all of our bikes for sale. We always have a wide selection of refurbished bikes for sale at our shop. Stop by during open hours to see if we have the right bike for you! However, if you’re looking for something special, visit our website to see our selection of unusual refurbished bikes: tandems, cargo bikes, unique flat-bar road bikes and a slew of All-Terrain Bikes (ATBs).

Send an email to sales@communitycycles.org if you would like to see one of these bikes as they may be offsite.

Follow us on Instagram for photos of the latest bicycles that we’ve refurbished, repaired and restored for your pedaling pleasure.

Bicycle Donations

Donations are accepted Thursday-Sunday 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Be mindful that Community Cycles is in a residential neighborhood and unattended donations attract crime. Please drop off bicycles for donation only when we are open.  We can also pick up your bicycle donation.  Thank you!

Together, we are making Boulder better for bicycling. Your membership helps Community Cycles support our staff and pay operational costs; supports our  advocacy work; and helps us carry out all of our community programs.

New Rules on Cash Donations

New rules for 2020 tax returns allow cash donations up to a total value of $300 to be deducted. We hope that makes it a little easier to give...and we’re grateful that our generous donors can enjoy and benefit from that deduction. This is not tax advice: Please check with your financial or tax advisor about your specific tax and financial situation.

Super-Easy, Affordable Membership Plan: Monthly Donation

Spread out payments throughout the year by joining our Ring of Support as a Community Cycles Recurring Donor.  A recurring donation keeps us strong throughout the year.
