Walk and Bike Month 2019

Thanks to everyone who turned out on June 26 for Boulder’s 43rd annual Bike to Work Day. It’s always a beautiful day seeing our bike paths so full. Almost 10% of Boulder turned out for the fun!  Keep riding, and let’s keep our bike paths busy all summer long.

Did you have a favorite photo or an outstanding Bike to Work Day moment? Tell us your story and send us that photo here.

Ride cool and keep rolling all summer!  Some of our favorite tips:
  • Carry two bottles of water, one to pour on your head and one to stay hydrated.
  • Wear a damp kerchief around your neck.
  • Seen but not yet tried by any of us: a bicycle umbrella.

A final thanks to everyone who rode, who hosted a breakfast station, and who registered yourself, your friends and your company.

Thanks to all of the great sponsors and supporters who help make Walk and Bike Month possible.

Keep riding!

Executive Director

Thanks for Input on the 13th St. GreenStreet & North Broadway

GreenStreets will be coming to the City of Boulder in August, with designs that prioritize and encourage bicycling and walking. Thirteenth Street will be the first to make its mark. The Community Cycles Advocacy Committee is committed to seeing this and other GreenStreets fulfill their promise as they are rolled out.  Learn more.

The North Broadway reconstruction project is nearing design completion. Our view is that the design currently under discussion is still inconsistent with the goals and vision of the Low-Stress Network. The Transportation Advisory Board will be holding a working session with staff to try to improve the design within time and money constraints.  Learn more.

Complete Mechanics Series (CMS). Registration for August is full. However, check back for our October Series, which will soon be live on our website. Check here.

With several grant-funded programs this year, Community Cycles staff, along with board members and friends, are doing a lot of bicycle care education around town.  It’s our joy to see kids getting back on their newly-repaired bikes, with some new skills to keep their bikes rolling.

Save the date for Motherload

Friday, September 20th

MOTHERLOAD is a crowdsourced documentary about a new mother’s quest to understand the increasing isolation and disconnection of the digital age, its planetary impact, and how cargo bikes could be an antidote.

New volunteer shifts are open on Mondays and Wednesdays to help build bikes for sale.

Every year CU students arrive and wipe out our current inventory. This year we are determined NOT to run out of bikes as sales of these bikes go back to programs that make CC great. Please help us refurbish bikes to our high standards through the end of August.

Our Mission: build Safe and Reliable transportation at an affordable price. We truly believe that, and with help from our community (you!), we can "Frankenstein" together some really cool bikes. Click here to get started.
