Welcome back! Glad to see you again!

As we emerge from a difficult year, we are feeling thankful for the little things—seeing friends, dinner parties, even in-person meetings. At Community Cycles, we are thankful to have weathered this storm and emerged on the other side mostly intact.

As we re-open, we’d like share with our members, volunteers and customers where we are at.

MasksUnvaccinated staff and customers must wear masks. Masks are strongly encouraged for others.

WorkshopsWe are working to re-open more classes and workshops, but it will likely take a few months to get all classes back in session. Many classes are taught by volunteers (assisted by CC staff), and getting all the volunteers back and caught up will take some time.

DIYWe are open Sunday and Thursday for DIY where you can work on your own bike with our tools. You must be a member and reserve a stand. We will keep opening days as we are able to staff them.

Parts and SuppliesNew parts and supplies are extremely difficult to get right now, but thanks to some earlier bulk orders, we do have a number of common items in stock. Stop by the shop to see if we have what you need.

BikesNew bikes are hard to get, but we have been rebuilding pre-owned bikes all winter and have a pretty good supply—especially bikes that are great for commuting around town. Check online or stop by our shop and see if we have the right bike for you.

Thank you for supporting us during this difficult year. Thanks to your support we are able to pay our wonderful staff, even during the two months we shut down in 2020. Your continued support will allow us to get back to full operations faster and provide services to our community. If your membership has lapsed over this past year, please consider renewing. It is the support of our members that keeps Community Cycles strong.

Thanks so much!

Ride on!

Hold the Dates:
Bike to Work Day (9/22) & Member Party (8/28)

Bike to Work Day is September 22 with all the breakfast stations you’ve come to expect! This is a great opportunity to get your friends out to ride.

Our annual Member Party and silent auction is August 28! The party is back and it’s in person! Our annual membership party will be at the shop on 2601 Spruce. Join us for food, drinks, a silent auction and FUN! We are also looking for volunteers to help us with some of the leg work of the silent auction. We give you lots of instructions and it’s a fun way to help support Community Cycles. Think you can lend a hand? Contact

Community Cycles' eBike Program Launches

Know a low-income essential worker who would be interested in commuting to work on an electric bike? After a month of putting details in place, the Community Cycles “Can Do Colorado” eBike program has launched.

Ride Ambassadors

New to biking? Uncomfortable with riding in Boulder? During September Bike Month, ride ambassadors will be available to ride designated routes (suggestions welcome) on Bike to Work Day in various parts of town with interested participants.

We will also hold a workshop for interested new bike commuters. Ride ambassadors will be there identifying the most comfortable routes around Boulder and will offer one-on-one route consultation to anyone that needs the advice.

Interested in the workshop or being a ride ambassador? Contact Alexey.

Please Don't Park Your Motor Vehicle in the CC Parking Lot

Our neighbors in the front half of the building are getting very angry about customers and members parking in their spots and have begun issuing fines to Community Cycles. Please park on Spruce Street; there are many free street parking spaces available.

Submit Questions to Potential Council Members

The Raucous Caucus, a public forum for 2021 Boulder City Council candidates, is being held on Wednesday, June 23, at 6:00 p.m. We are looking for candidates that put Safer Streets as a top 1 priority. We encourage you to attend and ask specific questions regarding transportation in Boulder. All potential Council candidates are welcome to participate in this forum. Register for the event here.

Warm weather has arrived and we are eager to get out and ride. We are back to offering our six-part Complete Mechanic Series (CMS), a staple of Community Cycles’ education workshops. We’re currently running CMS once a month and many are interested! We’re also working on bringing back other workshops as we navigate re-opening the shop now that COVID regulations are easing up.

Keep checking our workshops page to see what we’ve added. Hope to see you at the shop!

Donations are accepted Thursday-Sunday 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Be mindful that Community Cycles is in a residential neighborhood and unattended donations attract crime. Please drop off bicycles for donation only when we are open.  We can also pick up your bicycle donation. Thank you!
