New Shop Ribbon Cutting! April 23 @ 1 p.m. | 2601 Spruce St., Unit B

Please join Community Cycles as we officially open our new facility at 2601 Spruce St., Unit B with a ribbon cutting. We moved into our new space on March 25, and opened to the public on March 29. Since then, the shop has been hopping, with twice as many visits as we had this time last year!

On April 23 at 1 p.m., we’ll make it official with a grand opening ribbon cutting!  Bob Yates from the Boulder City Council and Elise Jones from the Boulder County Commissioners will have the honor of cutting the ribbon. Bob was instrumental in the Community, Culture, Safety ballot measure, which brought $822,500 to this project. Elise championed Community Cycles’ application to Boulder Worthy Cause funding, which has brought $310,000 to the project. Many other foundations and individuals have contributed, helping us to raise $1.9 million to date of the $2.1 million cost.

Festivities will begin at 1 p.m. with a few words from Community Cycles Executive Director Sue Prant, followed by Bob and Elise and Boulder Chamber President John Tayer, who will be bringing oversized scissors for the ribbon-cutting. Cake, coffee, tea and tours of the new facility will follow.

This day has been over three years in the making, and we couldn’t have done it without the strong support of the community,” said Sue Prant. "I couldn’t be more excited about this new step for Community Cycles and new resource for Boulder,” said John Tayer. “It's fitting that an organization which is such a foundation of support for our community's bike culture now has such a sound foundation in our community."

Thanks, Ride On, and come visit us on April 23 and beyond!

Executive Director

Unable to Itemize Deductions on Your Taxes? Consider a Donor Advised Fund.

We have a huge amount of gratitude and appreciation for all the people who donate to Community Cycles.  For the love of bicycles, you share your time, your old bikes and your funds with us. We love bikes and like to go for bike rides, and the new tax law is just a bit above our pay grade, but we know that changes to the tax law (the larger standard deductions) have made it harder for some of our donors and supporters to itemize deductions and enjoy the financial benefits of your donations.

We did a little preliminary exploration, and have one idea to share: Some people are saving, planning to make a large donation and itemize next year. Some people have created a tax-deductible Donor-Advised Fund with a minimum initial contribution of $25,000. Contact Boulder’s Community Foundation for more information.  And thank you again for all your generous gifts!
