More Ebikes in Boulder County

Community Cycles is starting to deploy ebikes to low-income essential workers in Boulder County. Fifty participants will attend one of five orientations where they will pick up their ebikes, plan their routes and have a chance to ask questions from bike commuter experts at Boulder Transportation Connections. We’re also thrilled to have Boulder Community Health bringing their helmet-fitting expertise to be sure helmets are worn properly. The program goal is to help improve air quality by having participants use an ebike for most of their commuting and errands. This will be tracked using a SmartPhone app created by NREL that will show what a difference riding an ebike can make.

Here are some of the happy new ebike owners who are eager to give up their car-centric lifestyle to try a more healthy way to commute and reduce their carbon footprint. Many shared they have wanted to ride a bike to work for a long time, but thought it would be too far or take too long on a regular bike; or they didn’t know how to plan a safe route. Now they have an ebike to make it easier and faster, along with experts to help plan and guide.

Plus, check out the Community Cycles ebike story in the Daily Camera.

Ride on!

It’s Fire Season Again 🙄

Before your next ride, check the air quality index (AQI), which advises that you curb outdoor exercise when levels exceed an AQI level of 150 or PM2.5 concentrations of 55 micrograms per meter cubed for the average person.

Volunteer Instructors

Community Cycles is seeking volunteer instructors for the following classes: Fix-A-Flat, Maintenance 101, DIY Facilitation

Please contact: manager@communitycycles.org if you would like to take on a class (or six). It’s a wonderfully rewarding experience!

Please Don’t Park Your Motor Vehicle in the CC Parking Lot

Our neighbors in the front half of the building are getting very angry about customers and members parking in their spots and have begun issuing fines to Community Cycles. Please park on Spruce Street; there are many free street parking spaces available.

Follow us on Instagram for photos of the latest bicycles that we’ve refurbished, repaired and restored for your pedaling pleasure.

Bicycle Donations

Donations are accepted Thursday-Sunday 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Be mindful that Community Cycles is in a residential neighborhood and unattended donations attract crime. Please drop off bicycles for donation only when we are open.  We can also pick up your bicycle donation. Thank you!
