Concerns on 28th Street (Canyon to Iris) Project

The north segment of 28th St. (Canyon to Iris) is being redesigned as a multimodal project.  While Community Cycles supports making improvements to facilitate transit, we feel this outdated design makes 28th more dangerous for bicycles and pedestrians while increasing speeds and only slightly improving conditions for buses. Bike Tips: Layer Up!

Dress in layers! Colorado has cold mornings and evenings. Hang an extra bag on your bike to store your essentials during the day when you’re not wearing/using them. Handlebar bags, seat bags, trunk bags or baskets are great ways to bring those few extra and essential items. Stop by our shop and find one that works for you. We can special order almost anything.

Winter in the Bike Shop: COVID Edition

We are allowing customers into our shop, but we can only have 10 people in our shop at a time.  We have three large industrial HEPA-13 air purifiers to increase our indoor air exchange to recommended levels.

Masks are required on Community Cycles premises (indoors and out) and social distancing must be maintained.

Please do your part to help Community Cycles stay open so we can continue to serve the public.

Workshops and DIY are still on hold.  Our current plan is to wait until we can host them outdoors, due to the limited number of people permitted in the shop. Stay tuned via our website and this newsletter for any updates.

Bikes for Sale

Please visit our website to see a small selection of our refurbished bikes. Send an email to sales@communitycycles.org if you would like to see one of these bikes -- it may be offsite.

Please note that it is impossible for us to list all of our bikes. We always have a wide selection of refurbished bikes for sale at our shop. Stop by during open hours to see if we have the right bike for you!

We have: tandems, cargo bikes, unique flat-bar road bikes and a slew of All-Terrain Bikes (ATBs).

Follow us on Instagram for photos of the latest bicycles that we’ve refurbished, repaired and restored for your pedaling pleasure.

Bicycle Donations

Donations are accepted Thursday-Sunday 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Be mindful that Community Cycles is in a residential neighborhood and unattended donations attract crime. Please drop off bicycles for donation only when we are open.  We can also pick up your bicycle donation.  Thank you!

Together, we are making Boulder better for bicycling. Your membership helps Community Cycles support our staff and pay operational costs; supports our  advocacy work; and helps us carry out all of our community programs.

New Rules on Cash Donations

New rules for 2020 tax returns allow cash donations up to a total value of $300 to be deducted. We hope that makes it a little easier to give...and we’re grateful that our generous donors can enjoy and benefit from that deduction. This is not tax advice: Please check with your financial or tax advisor about your specific tax and financial situation.

Super-Easy, Affordable Membership Plan: Monthly Donation

Spread out payments throughout the year by joining our Ring of Support as a Community Cycles Recurring Donor.  A recurring donation keeps us strong throughout the year.
