Community Cycles Monthly Update

11th Annual Kids’ Holiday Bike Giveaway

It’s that time again! We’re prepping bikes for our annual Kids’ Holiday Bike Giveaway on Sunday, December 11. Last year we gave away close to 300 bikes to families in need. We are looking for volunteers to help work on bikes, as well as people willing to help us out on event day. Read more here. Support this great event! Your donations will help get bikes to low-income children and families in our community.

  Ride on!

Thank You Community Foundation

Thank You Kaiser Permanente

Thanks to the Kaiser Permanente Video Storytelling Challenge for their support in creating an outstanding video describing our Earn-A-Bike program. Hear Celina’s story, and learn more about how Community Cycles is making a difference and getting more people on bikes.

Thanks Via Transit

Via is installing 3-capacity bike racks on all HOP buses in Boulder. Now it’s time for RTD to follow Via’s lead and install 3-capacity racks, especially on the JUMP and DASH lines where people who ride bikes are more likely to be left stranded. Interested in seeing these racks on RTD buses, or ever been stranded because of a full rack? Please write RTD, your local representative and copy Community Cycles.

As the weather gets colder and wetter, make sure your bike chain is well lubricated. Especially for those bikes that live outdoors, having a well-lubed chain will go a long ways towards keeping your drive train in good shape through the rough weather months. Come see us in the shop for lubricants and recommendations.
